I've never felt more degraded and livid in all my time as a roleplayer.

Here's why...

Some people believed I was hogging ALL the Beckett roleplay accounts online, on all social media platforms, all to myself.

How dare I ship my Canon character, Margaret Smyth, from Pirates of the Caribbean with other Canon characters from the same film saga.

How dare I ONLY want to have my Canon character from Pirates of thr Caribbean be romantically involved ONLY with 2 Canon characters from Pirates of the Caribbean.

How dare my Canon character be tagged with other Canon character accounts from the same film franchise, Pirates of the Caribbean.

How dare I be tagged with 1 Beckett character account as well as 1 Barbossa character account on Twitter and roleplay with them on that social media platform while I had 1 Beckett character account on Instagram. But not tagged on Tumblr, LiveJournal, or anywhere else.

How dare I have my Canon character interact with other Canon characters of the same film saga.

How dare Ineven think my character, Margaret Smyth, is Canon.

How dare I have Margaret take an interest in Lord Beckett, not just Captain Barbossa.

How dare I have Margaret take an interest in Lord Beckett, not just Captain Barbossa.

How dare my Canon character account of Margaret Smyth be tagged with Lord Beckett character accounts on separate social media platforms as a romantic interest because each of those character accounts asked me to romantically ship their Canon character of Lord Beckett with my Canon character of Margaret Smyth. It wasn't me asking them, but they asked me ans I accepted. Yet I'm the vile one to hog ALL the Becketr accounts online. 2 Beckett accounts out of hundreds of Beckett character accounts on all social media platforms. Huh.

Now I'm only interacting with one Beckett character account because I was roleplaying with another Beckett on a different social media, plus someone got more than jealous.

Apparently I was in the way of other people's fantasies with Lord Beckett and they thought I don't deserve the Beckett tags let alone interaction. Even though I wanted to explore the possibilities that are possibly hinted about in Piratesbofbthe Caribbean between the Canon characters.

How dare I portray a Canon character so inaccurately according to other people's views about who Margaret Smyth is. That my portrayal is completely incorrect despite I've followed hints from the Pirates of the Caribbean films and drawn from old pirate films, nautical lore, pirate legends, and other influences to inspire my portrayal of Margaret Smyth. And who cares that I've been portraying her since 2003, long before 2017 when she was mentioned in Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales.

How dare I have Margaret love Lord Beckett as well as Captain Barbossa. Shame on me for having Canon character love Canon characters of the same film saga.

Apparently it's nasty of me to be in the way of other people's non-canon, and even unhealthy, fantasies with a Canon character. ThatbI should move aside and let everyone have the character even though they wanted to be tagged with me. What ever the hell was I thinking, hmm?

This is why I'm struggling with roleplay and writing because some people are overly critical of how I roleplay. Shame on me for doing my best to bring Margaret Smyth to life.

Hi, I was thinking about Lady Barbossa's skills in shooting or saber wielding or ship control. Could Hector have taught her that?

Ahoy! Thank you for this question and what a fabulous question it is, too.

No, Lady B, aka Margaret Smyth, would have learned all those skills from other people.

Long before "Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales", I had the backstory that she was whisked away before Hector had a chance to make good on his promise to come back for her. She was taken away, then plunged into life altering circumstances that caused her to become very wicked, even bloodthirsty. She learned to use the sword and flintlocks of all sorts on the battlefield. She learned to sail and piracy from an old pirate named Big Ben.

Various other skills were taught to her by non-pirate figures while some skills were self-taught. She's resourceful in many ways with a love to learn and discover.

Oh, this is a very good question. First of all, I greatly apologize for a very delayed response. I can't get on Tumblr for some odd reason and miraculously I was able to tonight. So, here is your answer:

I'd imagine two possible scenarios. One scenario would be Margaret and Hector alone together after the Great Battle Against Piracy and Beckett is defeated. No doubt their conversations will be heated, both good and bad, but a kiss would likely happen only for such an expression of affection to break him into a vulnerable man to have garnered the affection of the special woman. Another scenario is similar to above but a reflection upon their youth as they could have known each other when they were younger, kind of like Elizabeth and Will knew each other from a young age. And it was Margaret who was shocked that Barbossa stole a kiss when they were younger and she slapped him. But after they reflect upon that moment, Margaret confessed she liked the kiss when Hector confessed it was his first kiss as well as his only kiss. No doubt it would have humbled Margaret and they'd share another kiss.

Whatever the scenario, Margaret would certainly be astonished and stunned, perhaps humbled and maybe pensive. Certainly a vulnerable moment between two people who would rather die than to display vulnerability.

Shifting gears

Hi, all.

I've been RPing Pirates of the Caribbean online since the first film. I've done some pirate events, too, as that mysterious beloved of Captain Barbossa since the first film, too. However, since Dead Men Tell No Tales, PotC RP has changed for the worse and not getting better.

So... I'm going to focus more on the cosplay aspect of PotC, and generally, the 18th century. I greatly enjoyed reenacting, I miss it, and have enjoyed the interactions from other living historians online and their content. Hopefully, I will have content in the future for all to enjoy. Most have been a great inspiration to pick up the pieces and try living history again as an all-around 18th century Enthusiast. Since most of my attire is lost or loaned out and never returned, this gives me an opportunity to remake a whole new vast wardrobe that ranges from a common sailor pirate to a fancy pirate, a fancy early 18th c Lady to an indentured servant, plus, expand to the American Revolution once again as a soldier and a campfollower. I might try my hand at recreating East India Trading Company uniforms from the Pirates of the Caribbean films and raise up a reenactment group for pirate events.

My restart into 18th century fun is in the form of a new pocket that is more a test pocket for a costume, rather than authentic attire. I'm embroidering it in all shades of blue in the Jacobean floral style widely fancied in the time period. From there I shall continue with more embroidery projects, including embroidering more of the various shades of blue on white for a gentlewoman's outfit.

It's a pity that RP has come to this where we no longer value each other enough to engage in amazing adventurous stories within the verse/saga we love, but it's giving me an opportunity to reconnect with like-minded people who do value one another and enjoy creating content that is fun as well as educational to the world.

I'm still willing to RP if you want to interact because RP is one aspect of character and persona development. it offers the opportunity to explore possibilities with a character. If you want to RP, please, send an Ask with a starter or tag me. Otherwise, I shall post when I can and when I've made progress and have the content worthy of even posting on Instagram (which is where I'm on the most).

Barbossa was a privateer, working under the name of King George III. King George? Barbossa? working for? Yes, incredibly odd isn't it? However, don't be fooled, this was a deceiving plan to take his true revenge out on Blackbeard. Barbossa's elegant garb consisted of wearing a powdered wig, he wore a blue, navy officer's coat with white gloves and navy boots. The captain's round, hat plaved with ostrich feathers was replaced with a black and gold bicorne.

The most noticeable thing was his leg, it was missing. He lost the leg to Blackbeard who wrapped the crew in the riggings--now the next part isn't pretty but--he cut off his right leg to survive. He escaped with his life but was left with a burning fury to seek revenge on Blackbeard.

When he heard Jack sparrow was arrested in court, how could Hector refuse that opportunity.

Although, he headed up the stairs to greet his long-time frenemy after all those years. His eyes were greeted by an old, familiar face.

There was no turning back now.

A finely dressed figure hurried quietly in the palace with cautious glances to and fro in hopes never to be caught. However, she froze in fear that she had been caught, but in a split second her unique eyes widened while a breathless gasp escaped her moist red lips. Briefly she trembled and gripped the skirting of her fine gown that draped every so perfectly over the panniers at the sides of her hips. She looked nothing like a pirate and more like a fine Lady of the Royal Court.

Her stance tensed as she glared at Hector in utter shock. "What are ye doing here?" she hiss-whisper-growled at him with a slight lean towards him while desperately trying to cling to a bit of Court decorum. A glanced around them to make certain no one noticed the two unlikely couple in what seemed like a tense standoff or unhappy reunion. Maybe. Long dark ringlets lay down her neck and shoulders and hung down, but rippled and trembled as she moved while the rest of her dark hair was fashionably styled and didn't move. Her eyes intense upon the man she knew as a Pirate Lord.

Barbossa wasn't expecting this; Margaret Smyth? Here? At the castle of King George III?. Hector wouldn't have thought of all people for her to be here. Though, at least to say, they had matching attire. Barbossa, in his privateer garbs and garments as Margaret, dressed as a lady of the royal court. In what should've been a typical, dramatic reunion that ended in the two love birds running up and kissing at the end of some sappy love movie.

Hector slightly leaned back while gripping his wooden clutch to hold his stance. "My question be tha same wit ye Margaret," Barbossa whispered.

Barbossa was a privateer, though, truth be told, he heard Sparrow was in the palace. He was set to head up on the request of his majesty. Barbossa had been an exceptional sailor. He was the trusted advisor to the kind and was given the commandment of the navy's beloved pride vessel, the HMS providence.

Hector leaned forward using his crutch to help his stance. "I be working under the authority o' his majesty," he said. "Ta serve as a privateer after tha tragic loss o' tha pearl".

Her unique eyes glanced him over a couple times rather surprised to see him looking so fine like a Gentleman; a proper fine Gentleman socially acceptable and of high rank. Oh, yes, his appearance surprised her, and it showed. After the initial shock dwindled she stiffened with some measure of arrogance as he hit a raw nerve to ask her why she was here. Her body language and movements were so akin to Miss Swann, one would think they were nearly sisters. She simply refused to tell Hector the reason she was here in the palace.

"I can se-" she began but then absolute shock hit her as if he slapped her. Margaret winced and nearly recoiled a second later as she stared at Barbossa. It was apparent that 'the tragic loss of the Pearl' hit her hard and took her a moment to recover from that bit of news. Her eyes stung and started to tear up as the air suddenly felt dry and her body felt so heavy she had to shuffle to the side and rest against the wall. Her reaction to the Black Pearl lost was most unexpected, even for herself. "What... happened?" she asked in a meek, stunned voice. Her unique eyes tried to look at Barbossa, but they stared past him in haunted reminiscing.

Barbossa for a moment nearly felt guilty, by that he knew he lost the pearl. He felt furious about it, a captain never lets anything happen to his ship, even the saying "a captain goes down with his ship" should've meant something for Barbossa. Though, his eyes for a moment softened at the sight of Margaret's reaction to the loss of the pearl. However, Barbossa remained collected. He leaned on his peg leg and his weight against his wooden crutch.

The black pearl wasn't damaged luckily, only, stolen...

"We were off the coast of Hispaniola when we came under attack. No provocation nor warning or offer of parley. We were peppered with cannon fire. And then the sea beneath the Pearl began to roil. The Pearl was pitching and yawing violently. Every plank, every rail, every spar all at once began to creak. The rigging had come to life! Our own ship turned against us. Tangling the crew, wrapping around them like snakes...and wrapping around my leg. But my arms were free and my sword was at hand." Hector whispered trying not to pry any unwanted attention.

"I am tha master o' my ship, not Blackbeard. I am the master of me fate, not Blackbeard! So I did what needed done...I survived." Barbossa sounded sincere or, at least he tried to.

"Tell me, what arrr ye doin in a place like this pray tell?" He asked.

The moment Barbossa shifted is when Margaret truly took in the scope of his lost leg. That missing limb shocked her as she looked him over, stared at his leg for a moment longer than she should have, until her eyes returned to his face. Those lines seemed to have aged him more. Hardly a breath as she found no words to say nor ask. However, she listened. When Hector spoke, Margaret listened to his tale of the Pearl's fate. Every word twisted her heart as her mind tried to conjure an image of what happened. When Blackbeard was mention, Margaret went stiff and that image of the Pearl disappeared. Her face stoic, almost catatonic, while she stared distantly with a dark visage and dark memory.

Margaret snapped out of it and her attention returned to Hector when he asked a question. Her shoulders sank just slightly, "my purpose here is now null and void. Although, I heard whispers of Jack Sparrow in the palace." She covered her mouth and tried not to laugh, "Why ever would Jack be in the palace and presence of King George?" She then looked Hector up and down, "actually, I could ask ye the same question. Why would ye be so foolish as to-" then she stopped and looked at him a bit shocked. "Ye turned Privateer, didn't ye?" Oh, she's very surprised.

Alas, it was hard enough to lose such a prized ship to another captain, let alone, the price of his own leg. Was it all an eye for an eye for cheating death. An exchange, for his own life; a leg, and his ship. It was a great loss, but when Sparrow hears of this, oh, they'll be hell to pay. The look upon Margaret's face when he told her the events was like a bolt from the blue. Even to many, the most outlandish thing is for Hector turning privateer.

"Aye, but not by preference, I ain't doin' this out o' me own leisure but as an act o' retribution," he couldn't exactly give much away, not awhile there was the possibility of prying ears.

"As for Jack, he ain't know anytin', yet" he was excited to catch up with an old rival. "So our sands all but run. But where's the harm in joining the winning side? And you do meet a nicer class o' person. " he touched a lock of his wig, smiling wryly.

Margaret's face said it all. A slight twitch to the side and furrowed brows as her face expressed absolute bewilderment. Her lips moved just slightly as if she were about to audibly repeat 'retribution' but refrained rather well her voice and tongue.

Again, her expression said it all. A hard fear and nearly a scolding at Hector. "Jack'll have yo'r hide for certain," she whispered. Her brows barely furrowed and she looked concerned for the old sea dog. Yet some slight annoyance or even curiosity to want to see that moment when Hector told Jack about the fate of the Black Pearl. She sighed and slightly pursed her lips.

Those unique eyes had glanced down then back to Hector with some measure of confusion or curiosity, then a good deal of conflict. Her head cocked slightly and she certainly scolded Hector with a hard gaze. "The winning side? Time and the Principalities decides who wins and who... " she paused as she trailed off. "Need I remind ye of Lord Cutler Beckett?" As she meant to say he was a nicer class of person and supposedly on the winning side. "Mark yo'rself well, Hector. Be that one who IS the winning side or ye might find yo'rself dead again... and I, nor anyone else, will be able to save yo'r soul." She gazed hard at him.

Margaret shifted and slowly moved closer to him as she acted like she was being incredibly sweet to him by caressing his chest and fondling the lapels of his frock coat. "What sort of retribution, I wonder, that would make a Pirate Lord become the King's Privateer," then those unique eyes lifted to look up at him, into his eyes.

Carina was asleep. She had been put to rest by her father, as he spoke of his tales out at sea; ones from his past such as fighting Davy Jones, the tales of Elizabeth and Will turner, him as the captain of the cobra and--of course--telling the tales of Jack Sparrow, albeit not in the way Jack would've told.

Hector approached his beloved. He promised to spend one day of mothers Day before he departed out at sea. He bent down and pecked her forehead whilst smiling.

Margaret tried her best to relax in a chair while her unique eyes locked upon the dancing flames in the large lantern on the candlestick table across from her. She appeared dazed and deep in thought, and failed to hear familiar footsteps. A touch from something rough and moist startled her as her hand reached for an invisible weapon that was no longer at her side while she deeply inhaled sharply and nearly gasped. Then Margaret saw the visage of Hector and relaxed to sink slowly back into her chair with a soft sigh. It took a moment for a meek smile to curl the ends of her mouth. "She sleeps?" Margaret asked Hector.

It took alot, hector wasn't nor felt like he was experienced enough to be a father, yet Margaret helped him see otherwise. The young nursling was asleep, her eyes closed, and her breaths were small. He smiled, but it was not a smile he usually showed, but out of rare occasion. Not the smile when his greedy eyes first gaze at the sight of greed. His rough, coarse hand cupped her cheek; His finger traced up and down, feeling her soft skin.

"Aye, tha nursling be sleepin soundly," he said in a soft, coarse tone. "Was tellin tales o' me finer days out at sea".

That meek smile upon Margaret's face grew into a warm, sweet smile and tilted her head slightly into his hand. Just the slightest tender movements from him made her unique eyes sparkle with affection for the pirate. It's clear from the expression upon her face and the way she looked at him that she's waited a very long time just to enjoy such tender moments with him again. Her hand came up to cover his hand and barely caress his weathered hand, but then she turned her head and planted a sweet tender kiss upon the palm of his hand. Yes, she still loves him. No curse, no distance, nothing could break her bond with him.

Unless Fate deemed it otherwise.

She sighed and closed her eyes while deep in thought. Then she looked up at Hector with a rather comical expression. "Ye know, Ye CAN call her am infant girl or sweet baby. She's yo'r daughter, after all." She tried so hard to push down the uneasy feeling deep inside the core of her being. It was still rough moving around having birth the girl so very recently. Rest always felt better.

This time a grin spread upon her face, "and did she fancy them stories about her father? Hmm? All yo'r adventures to uncharted isles and beyond the farthest gate? Of sea creatures galore and foes a plenty?" She smiled up at him with a twinkle in her unique eyes as she missed those swashbuckling days on the high seas.

Now she planted her hands upon the armrests of the chair and carefully - very carefully - and slowly pried herself up onto her feet. She winced and hissed from the aches and pains. "Damnation!" she growled through gritted teeth, "I thought bein' puched in the jaw or skewered with a bayonet was the worst pain in the world." She made a terribly hysterical face, "Oooh, no. Nay, not half as bad as this! Aye, have a baby! Settle down and have a family, says them! BOLLOCKS! Says I! What doth them scallywags what never birthed a child know what be best?!? Hellfire and damnation!" She clung to the chair as she tried to support herself as her legs seemed to still be like jelly. She growled a moment, then looked at Hector with a look questioning this grand twist in their lives.

supporting the movie doesn’t mean we let what Disney did slide, it means we’re reminding them that WE LOVE AND SUPPORT JOHNNY. Disney will know that when they see the $$$ Johnny’s movie receives.

Uncertain exactly why those two were grinning, Margaret watched them while briefly smiling at the two gents before slightly furrowing her brows. "Why, pray tell, are ye both so delighted to see me?" Now she felt like she regretted that inquiry as she waited for their answer with her hands upon her hips in quite an intimidating stance.

As graceful as a woman can be, Margaret made her way towards Hector. She kept ever so keenly aware of his weapons and arms while she inched closer to him and managed to touch his arms. She gazed at the back of his neck, at the point between his shoulder blades for a moment while she took a deep breath in. Slowly, her arms snaked around him as she embraced him from behind with a gentle hug. Now she's close enough to him that her breath softly brushed over his shoulder and she inhaled, taking in his scent - the salty sea, sweat, masculine, almost musty and musky, a hint of something else.

He felt her arms intertwine around him from behind. The natural reaction would've been to flinch; although he didn't. His chapped, coarse hands raised to her touch. Both hands gently held hers. He was rooted to where he stood, allowing her to embrace him. Her soft breath gently touched his nape. It was a blissful moment that shan't end. Hector leaned his head on hers; he closed his eyes, embracing her.

"Tis be a moment in bliss, m'dear," he muttered softly.

"Aye," she whispered a reply, and simply held him. Desperately trying to restrain tears while her arms ached. To hold him was a moment to truly cherish. How long they've waited to be together, yet how long will they be apart again? She deeply inhaled and sighed to barely nuzzle his head with her own. His touch finally experienced again after yearning for it for so long. Rough as his hands may be, she still enjoyed his touch. There was something in his hands, in his touch, in those movements. Something she tried to understand and read but could not.

Another sigh as she rested her head against him and her hands caressed his chest slowly. She dared not say a word. Somehow... she knew... this reunion will not last.
