yes, arguably the quality of the Pirates movies declined after the 2nd/3rd one, but you can pry washed-up Barbossa in his silly gentleman’s wig from my cold dead hands

Jack sat down at the age scarred table in his captains quarters, gently running his thumb over one of the carvings in it. An X with a shoddy skull next to it. His kohl rimmed eyes lidded slightly as he recalled one of his many nights with Hector, drinking and laughing and gambling fine bird bones and shiny rocks. A sad smile uplifted the corners of his mouth, a twang of irony coating the memory. Jack always felt the need to pick up anything he could that caught his eye. He just couldn't help it. It wasn't so much that he had sticky fingers but that world was his oyster and there were pearls everywhere he looked, just waiting for him. Only Hector was worth gambling those treasures of his to. After all, Hector was the most shiny pearl of all.
