Scientific Showcase: Namba and Sird
Many people were excited at the news that after many months the head of the Scientific and member of the Three Beasts, Sird, had returned. Of course, there was one very different reaction in the Science Department. Panic was almost everywhere. Scientists and interns were rushing to complete whatever projects they had been doing, clean up their lab and look decently.
People who were on probation had to sink or swim in this case and hope to truly impress the Lady Beast. Those in the “gray” area sought to either impress Sird so they would remain more and hope they would not be put on probation, and those that were a high caliber of Sird’s staff hoped to yet again impress their superior.
While one professor was quickly doing his best to simmer one of his concoctions and another was dousing a a jetpack with a fire extinguisher, Professor Namba had instead scurried over to the front. Like an excited puppy, he paced the door, stroking his mustache. Unlike several other people he was looking forward to Sird’s return. He had been ready for this moment and he hoped, oh how he hoped, that he would be the top scientist under Sird this day. He wanted to rub it in Sebastian’s smug face.
"Everyone is to stop what they are doing and assemble. You know the drill." Everyone knew that voice. They also knew that Sird would clap her hands twice, as if to emphasize the importance of her words. Professor Sebastian was there, smiling proudly with a small box in hands, and Namba? Oh, Namba couldn't have looked more excited if he tried. She almost expected the scientist to bounce on the balls of his feet, he appeared so energetic.
Banette was out, walking by Sird's side. The plush Pokemon occasionally squeaked if she lost her balance and flopped, but most of the researchers found that creature far from cute. When she paused to grin at the interns and astonish them, they shrieked and braced themselves.
"You can relax," Sebastian informed the interns in a very stern tone. "She always does that."
"Everyone's in formation. Excellent." Sird grinned and flexed. "As you all know, I've been recuperating from Operation Huxley. It lasted me the majority of a year, but we've succeeded. Before you hear it from Giovanni, I shall go ahead and inform you: we will be working alongside our new researcher partners in Team Galactic. "For now, I want to see what everyone has made over the past few months. I missed the June inspection. Let's see December."
