Painting through grief

Glancing around the chamber she was in again, she smiled. “Your Lady mother had a real eye for decorating, my Lady,” Sansa said, speaking the truth. The room was absolutely stunning and reminded her a little of the Red Keep. If she was not still a little hesitant about staying in the Keep of Tywin Lannister’s bannerman, she would appreciate it even more.
Speaking of such… The girl looked up at Alysanne and pressed her lips together tightly. “What shall you do when Tywin Lannister finds out that you are housing his son’s wife?” She asked carefully, not doubting the fact that he will find out. Varys’ little birds were probably already flying out to find her, and when they did, Tywin was the first to hear. She was sure of it. “He will want you to send me back to King’s Landing.” Or he’ll send his own men to come and get me if he thinks you are not to be trusted.
It was something that frightened the girl like nothing else. She had finally managed to escape Cersei and Joffrey - though she had not wanting him to die for it - only to be brought back to the Lannisters’ doorstep? She shivered at the thought. She would not let that happen.
“My mother was Dornish. They may be many things to the rest of the kingdom but no one can ever doubt that they make wonderful design choices.” As she spoke Alysanne reached forward and carefully poured tea for the two women. The sweet scent of vanilla quickly filled the air, her choice for when she had a guest and didn’t know what flavors the guest preferred from their tea. “My mother redid her own bedroom no less than three times before she was happy with it.”
Taking her own cup Alysanne carefully stirred in honey and cream, sweetening it to her liking. At her question Alysanne laughed softly. “I had forgotten you married Lord Tyrion. My my, how things have changed so quickly.” No Westerland lord was unaware of Tywin’s hatred of his own son. “And how do you think he’ll find out about you? From one of my servants? Never. All of them are related to the miners and have worked here since I was knee high. They’re loyal to the mines before him.” Taking a sip from her cup she shrugged slightly.
“There’s a very good way of lying to people Lady Stark. Simply chose your words carefully.” Alysanne said with a shrug. “If asked I’m not housing a runaway. I’m housing my cousin. Lady Myranda Lannister is my cousin, and Lord Tywin’s sister in law. Meaning Tywin’s children are cousins, and the ones they marry are as well.” As she explained she reached forward and carefully laid a few sandwiches and cakes onto a plate the girl’s brought. She placed the plate near Sansa’s tea cup. “I have many females cousins from the Frey and Lannister married cousins. It won’t be hard to hide you in plain sight.”
