Unused content for the true ending shows Akechi alive. Here is the explanation from the channel:

So this event was supposed to happen along the events where all social links help Joker in Juve. I assume the event of this date is beginning/mid February ? Somewhere in February at least Basically, in Final Palace ruler’s reality ( gonna be safe to be sure hehe ) he went to Shibuya on the 24th BUT in the real world, he went to the rehab center on the 24th. When Final Palace ruler’s reality was destroyed, everything went back to the real world, joker went to juve and thus Akechi is at the rehab center.

Personally I think it was removed because it reveals too much–it’s too decisive, and if they want to keep the mystery (and more games) going… it had to be cut.

Anyway, I’ll continue to gloat since I’ve been right (mostly!) for almost a year running now :)
