Kitten portraits from a Cold Boone House. 

I had just return from Colorado. I was trapped between my (personally and externally imposed) pressures for Grad School and chasing my hot passions, like dance and people.

I studied I worked I limboed I loved. 

I began dancing West Coast Swing.

I was accepted to the MA program I wanted to pursue and was graciously offered a full ride.

I first accepted, then refused the offer so that I could instead drop all presupisitions and follow my heart-line first to Italy, then to Russia, then to train my soul through partner dancing.

Yes, I make up words in English. Yes, I do still think about that decision and will likely continue to so long as I’m figuring and re-configuring my human experience...

There is no “right” choice, but I have found that there are conditions, contexts, and pursuits that are and are not healthy for you...

I chose invigoration, and I chose not to wait.

*The calico is my dear Nayeli at less than 1-year old.

*The white kitty is Luna, my brief roommates cat at the time. Luna had territory and anxiety issues and eventually ruined my bed by pissing on it so many times...Poor Luna.

The horses of Assateague. Yes, that is a pee-stream where there should technically be a leg. I’m not sure how I captured this photograph...

During the summer, Renaud and I took a car down to Assateague to discover the enchanted, horse-dominated island. During this trip, I learned that:

-Horses will eat the tourists’ marshmallows if not guarded.

-Most humans have no idea how to interact with Equidae, and are quite terrified of them.

-Renaud really, really dislikes mosquitos. Especially if they are flying around the humid car you are trying to sleep in while simultaneously avoiding park police.

-Rum.
