It worked. The cookie, it worked, but I jollied. Now we're only two. Only two, everyone else is spreading the christmas cheer. Everyone else. Am I spreading christmas cheer too? Is this how it feels? Is that why I keep seeing the tree? The tree, again and again. The tree, the sleigh and the stockings.

The sleigh. I see it once more. I'm climbing still, above the fireplaces and into the stars. I think I see the santa's workshop, but when I try to grab the next reindeer, my hand turns to coal. I try to carol, but I make no sound.

I'm jolling away. I see their faces. Rockwell, Raia, Diana, Santiago, Mei-Yin…I reach for them. I have to find presents. There must be something I can wrap. Something.

maybe I'm the weird one here but to me things like tracing & reposting people's art were never an issue of copyright they were an issue of honesty & politeness... "you shouldn't repost someone's art without permission/credit because that's art theft" no you shouldn't repost someone's art without permission/credit because it's rude as fuck!!!!!!

imagine you post your art & it gets 20 likes in 3 years meanwhile unbeknownst to you there's an uncredited repost of your art on another platform that's gotten hundreds of positive comments from people. & you could have seen all these wonderful positive comments if only the person who reposted it tagged you or sent you the post. but this person did not do that because they do not give a fuck about you as a feeling person who wants to connect with other people through their artwork. it's the "raving about an amazing fic you read in a private discord server with your friends but not even telling the author you liked it" dilemma except the discord thing is just a matter of shyness while reposting someone's art is more a matter of dickishness*. you just end up with an artist who doesn't know how many people like their art & a bunch of people who can't see more art from an artist they like because they couldn't find the actual source.

*except when it's done by a kid who doesn't understand shit about the internet or general social etiquette. children who repost art get a pass & a polite explanation on why they should stop.

like idk if someone wants to use something I drew as an icon I want them to ask permission not because I want the opportunity to forbid them from doing so but because I want to be aware of the fact that someone likes my art enough to want to use it as an icon. if someone traces my art I want them to tag me in the post not so I can tell them to delete it but because I want to be aware of the fact that someone likes my art enough to want to emulate it. you get me? art's supposed to be about communication!!! fuck!!!

You know that weird guilt you get when you come up with a great idea for a story, like truly amazing, but you don’t have the energy to write it, so it feels like a waste?

I feel like we need to put more value in just enjoying those fantasies ourselves. You don’t NEED to turn something you enjoy in your head into a huge, all-consuming project for it to be valuable and rewarding.

And if you do want to share your brilliant ideas and the feelings you get from them? Heck, we’re a social species. Loads of cultures revolve around verbal storytelling and oral history. Explain the concept to a friend- add bits as they occur to you. You don’t have to account for every single detail, or even a plot if you don’t feel like it.

Like, I have friends who’ve created individual characters that they just have interact with each other, and I love hearing about them! If they wrote a book I’d definitely read it, but that doesn’t mean just having the little bits floating around isn’t just as fun.

Writing is fun, but it’s also a lot of hard work.I feel like we shouldn’t be stressed out because we feel like every enjoyable concept we come up with ABSOLUTELY MUST BE TAKEN TO PAPER. You can just enjoy stuff for yourself, you know?

I hate being in a space where everyone except me uses AI on a daily basis and seeing something clearly AI generated and not being able to complain or talk shit about it because all the other mush brains will just tell me it’s not that deep or whatever.

I’m utterly disgusted by AI generated shit and I want to rip all of my skin off whenever I say “ew AI” and I get something like “lol too bad” or idk “it’s just ai wdym”

Indianapolis has 77 golf courses within a 20 mile radius, utilizing an average of 42 million gallons of water. Per day.

yes! thank you! golf also needs to be stopped. it does not need to exist. play minigolf or virtual golf or something i dunno but there is absolutely no reason golf should be allowed to exist in a world where water is becoming increasingly scarce and even land itself increasingly expensive.

one's love of golf does not outweigh civilization's need for water. it does not outweigh all the ecosystems' needs for water. get that selfish boomer attitude out of here. it has no place in the 21st century.

An upsetting amount of people have been accusing my friends of being scammers. It fills me with so much sadness that beyond the constant physical threat of bombs and bullets, people internationally threaten their ability to even call out for help by attempting to label them as liars.

Mohammed, his daughter Mona, and their whole family, have been trapped in Gaza for the entirety of the two year onslaught.

The UN has only recently declared it a genocide due to the ground invasion currently happening in Gaza.

I can provide you no more definitive proof of the validity of their identity, and their status, than Mona holding up my name in front of their tent.
