I saw this photo of La'veil Mizeria that they have posted on their Instagram profile today, and it reminded me how much I like and appreciate kote kei. I'm a die-hard tanbi kei fan, but, man, kote kei does something to my brain chemistry (in the best way possible). Like, I find so much artistry and dedication in the creation of the kote kei look - the makeup, the hair, the plethora of minute details that are, at least to me, essential for the style. It is so flamboyant and striking and over-the-top and maybe sometimes even overwhelming, but I just love seeing kote kei looks and just observing and admiring each part of the look and how, even though so rich in elements, everything looks so cohesive and polished (in its own dark and twisted way lmao). Truly one of a kind style! I hope to see more bands embracing it in the future (I'm already seeing some of the newer bands incorporating it which I love to see!).
