I graduated with a 2:1 degree in law.

I got onto my masters course and am doing a masters in law alongside the legal practice course (a necessary step to becoming a solicitor in the UK).

I have a work placement at the firm of my dreams.

I’m happily living in my own flat.

I’ve been happily single for over a year now.

I did it.

I'm 5 months away from qualifying as a Lawyer.

I've been with my partner for 2 and a half years.

We live in a beautiful flat together.

Next year we will buy a house.

Two things I’m working on today: I am the head editor of a special edition of the Goldsmiths literature journal (GLITS), so I’m currently checking over peer review sheets and manuscript feedback from our board of editors. 

I am also writing questions for an event I’ve been putting together as part of Alternative Careers Week at Goldsmiths, which is a conversation about the challenges facing prospective academics between myself, Dhanveer Brar, Beth Guilding, Jake Hall, Akanksha Mehta and Roberto Mozzachiodi.

here’s the thing about adulthood-

you will go for like three months with nothing happening and you’re bored as hell and then in the span of two weeks eight different things happen at once - some fantastic and some shitty and some just plain bonkers - and you’re just running around like a chicken with your head cut off and no clue what the fuck is going on

haven’t been up to the linguistics section since before graduating. still focusing on my sociophonetics textbook, certainly, but found something that intrigued me, so i may pick it up in august [no one ever borrows anything up there except for me; i even found a textbook i needed]. 💡

Hello

So, its been a while and, whilst I’m unlikely to be posting pictures of my perfect pretty notes anymore (as they don’t exist), I still want to mention to this blog my recent achievements.

I am about to take my second-year university exams (aka, the first set of exams that count towards my degree)

I have been elected onto the committee of Europes largest student-led law society and will be stepping into my role in September.

I have secured work experience in another Law firm over this summer and am hoping this will help me in terms of writing applications for training contracts. 

I am struggling a lot more than I ever have with education. I am no longer one of the smartest people in the class/school and I am finding it very hard to stay engaged with the content. My mental health has been in a steady decline and I’ve been rejected from a lot of positions I thought I was perfect for. Life is scary and hard but, I’m managing and thats what counts.

I HAD THE BEST DAY EVER! I woke up at 6, was at the coffee shop at 8, then went to the library at 11:30 and stayed there till 4pm. Now I’m home and I’m going to resume studying.

I finished 4 chapters of physio and THE WHOLE OF PATHOLOGY IM SO HAPPY.

Also this is the second time I EVER HAVE COFFEE and let me just say that I can still frel the caffeine buzzing in my veins.

Back to Uni

Hi there!
