The Gardenerās House at the Palace of Versailles, France
Damen thought of the ivory and gold casing that held a creature duplicitous, self-serving and untrustworthy.
"The image was damascened, as beaten metal. He was reading."
(That small crumb of bookish Laurent from book 1)

Damianos from Captive Prince

My photography, October 2025
im only attracted to worthy opponents
I just finished the Captive Prince trilogy in two days.
Itās not a romance. It is not Romantasy.
Itās an exploration of morality and consent juxtaposing non-consensual relationships and consensual relationships between adults.
Itās a political epic in a fantasy world.
The point of view of the pinnacle of privilege to losing bodily autonomy and back to privilege.
I didnāt find the slavery or sexual abuse to be glorified or to be put in any light other than negative.
I found the political intrigue and the character development to be what kept me reading.
Thereās an enemies to lovers trope buried in the political intrigue and exploration of morality.
Okay but what about Lamen, but Steven Universe AU?

This scene but make it Lamen
The funniest thing about captive prince is that Damen hardly has a secret identity at all. He is just out there using basically his regular name.
"Hi, I am Damen, not to be confused with the other Damen, who looks exactly like me, and died the exact day under suspicious circumstances the day I showed up. Just don't worry about it while I act very much like a prince and happen to have the exact skillset of one too"
hey. can we focus the hell up weāre at war
