My name's Big Don / Xavier! I use He/They pronouns. I'm an aroace, non-binary man. I'm a 20 year old Canadian, and currently studying psychology under a bachelor of arts. As an arts student, I'm trying to develop my critical thinking skills, my analysis skills, and my communication skills. Despite that, this blog will mostly be about Sonic the Hedgehog and my other interests. I have no strict DNI, but I'd prefer if bigoted individuals not interact with me. I will also not reply to DMs from minors or people without ages in bio.
What will this blog contain? I'm very interested in Sonic the Hedgehog, and I'll talk about the comics, the games, and the shows. It's mostly going to be a lot of ramblings, ideas and critiques on the media. I understand that the franchise is made for kids, but that doesn't mean it lacks depth. Take Sonic Adventure 2 for example, a game that handles many heavy themes despite being made for kids in the 2000's. As of now, I'm reading Archie Sonic and will post about that.
On another note, I'll also talk about my media collection and other aspects of my life. I'm very fond of physical media and "retro" stuff. I've been collecting video games, old cartoons, manga and comics, books, CDs, and VHS tapes. Despite being a 2000's kid, I grew up with a lot of 80's and 90's media. Shows like He-Man, the Jetsons, the Flintsones, Johnny Bravo, the Animaniacs, Scooby Doo, Dexter's Laboratory, Sonic SatAM and Sonic Underground were all staples of my childhood and made for unforgettable memories. I'm generally just a nostalgia junkie...
In general, I may post analysis on the media I consume and compare it to real life issues. I may also post stupid little things about Comics I'm currently reading. As I don't have a lot of time on my hands due to University, I may not be very active on this blog. It may be re-post heavy, but I'll still come around to post some thoughts on what I'm currently reading or playing. Remember, it's always good to keep an open mind when consuming media! Going in with intentions to hate will always ruin your experience with it.
PS: I also really like Shadow the Hedgehog. He's such a real one...
