Critique about Caleb’s part in the new multi banner. I want to make it clear again—this is about Infold, not Caleb himself or people who enjoy the banner.
I watched the PV a few times and honestly, I was really disappointed.
Caleb's card feels a lot like Floating Floraletter 2 — same repetitive animations, same camera angles, even the same color palette. Meanwhile, the other characters got completely new environments, distinct cultural elements, and fresh motion capture.
The difference really stands out, especially if you’re familiar with historical Chinese aesthetics. That’s probably why Chinese players’ reactions are way stronger than the global audience—they can clearly see how lazy and low-effort caleb’s card is.
The other cards were full of meaningful cultural interactions:
Swordplay clearly referencing wuxia,
Kites in a traditional Chinese courtyard,
Lanterns and wine on a guesthouse rooftop overlooking a historic city,
Performance masks with pavilion scenes and musical instruments.
All of these had detailed, close-up shots that made the environments feel rich.
Caleb's card, on the other hand, only had a flower and a medicine bottle in close-ups.
The wide shots offered no depth or layers—just a pretty but cluttered blur of generic leaves and petals.
No architecture, no meaningful objects, no clear cultural identity.
Compared to the others, it just feels lazy and disappointing.
Of course, Infold should’ve been more careful, but honestly, I think part of the blame goes to the people who leak banners. When they leak, Infold is forced to rush the multi banner out, and even the typography ends up different.
