Ventus nodded in agreement. The candies were in fact adorable, although they took the from of something that symbolized death, Ventus wasn’t the least bit intimidated by the skull.
❝ Day of the dead? ❞ he asked, dipping his head as he took the pastry-like food, holding the sugar skull in one hand and the other the bread. A part of him cried stranger danger, but the other part, a much bigger part of him was just happy people were talking to him. If it was one thing Ventus loved, it was making new friends.
❝ If I can ask… what’s Day of the Dead? ❞
The Goddess' face lit up, her eyes seeming to glow brighter as she was asked what her holiday was. Part of her was sad that he didn't know, but she knew for a fact not many did. What excited her most, however, was that she was going to be able to teach someone, and specifically a younger someone.
“Well, it is a holiday from my culture. Or, more specifically, it is my holiday. Where we remember our loved ones who have passed away. We mourn them by keeping them in our hearts and celebrating instead of being sad and dreary. For as long as you keep your loved ones in your heart and your memory, they shall live on in the Land of the Remembered.”
“I, personally, throw a huge fiesta for my subjects in the Land of the Remembered. It is a day to celebrate for us! There are parades with huge floats, colourful and festive decorations, as well as so much wonderful food.”
