► the brown eyed boy smiles—the embrace nothing new (in fact, he was surprised he wasn't wrapped up sooner in ringabel's arms)—beginning to reply to the inquiry before the rest of ringabel's sentence registers.

"not much rea—hey, what do you mean 'adorable bumpkin'?" once realizing that ringabel's 'bumpkin' comment was aimed at him, the smile fades.

"i wouldn’t mind going back to the sea, or maybe go to the beach as well," he mumbles quietly, a far-off look replacing the thoughtful one moments earlier.
