trinity santos is a study in fandom misogyny because they gave her all the characteristics fandoms usually salivate for in men, being gruff, quippy and misunderstood with a tragic backstory but a heart of gold beneath it all. they put all this into her AND let her be a lesbian. she's everything you could ever want in a character but she's not a man so half the fandom either hates her or constantly mischaracterizes her as petty, callous and aggressive while doing mental gymnastics to baby the male characters around her

when you spent all morning trying to talk to your coworker (who has the same job title as you) about how to make sure that your workplace has a smooth transition from his control to yours, but he kept blowing you off and didn't want to hear about any of the idea that you had and wanted to run by him, and every time you tried to have a serious conversation with you he would say he was just trying to get through the day so he could leave on his three month sabbatical, and now, after ignoring every single attempt you made to make sure that you could run your workplace smoothly without him, he's telling you he doesn't think that the workplace will survive without him (he just berrated one of his female employees for being stressed) even though you just saved a child with a procedure he had never even heard of, much less knew how to perform

The Pitt and Yellowjackets are such awesome shows for found family and also for multi-shipping because every single duo of characters you can come up with have their own incredibly complex unique dynamic. They're both very well balanced out ensemble casts where we care about every character. All the relationships are very loosely defined it leaves so much room for the imagination while showing rather than telling us the deep bonds that exist between the characters, whether it's interpreted as romantic or platonic.

Also can we talk about THE Dr. Baran Al-Hashimi in this episode???? Saved a kid’s life doing a procedure she had never done in person (perfectly executed while also teaching it when even Robby was obviously too intimidated to try it) and refusing to take Garcia’s shit about “butchering” the cut because she knows she did that!!! And then also not scared to professionally, privately, and firmly call Robby out about his behavior with Samira??? Even while he was acting like a bit of a child about it?? Oh I love her BAD

the way that trinity santos's whole character was almost perfectly distilled down for a single scene in the very first episode of the entire show when whitaker had the blood blister under his nail and she sat him down and was so gentle with the needle she used on his nail that he was surprised it didn't hurt and then she wrapped up his finger in a little superhero themed bandaid and then she made fun of him for being a farm boy

her prickliness and sarcasm has always been covering up a deep well of kindness and it's always been right below the surface

This episode showed Trinity singing to an upset baby, and also showed her SH scars, yet misogynists have been saying for MONTHS that she's a heartless, bullying, opportunistic bitch.

trinity santos is such a beautiful, nuanced, important character that it honestly makes me sad when people can't see it.

she continues to be great representation for so many who are struggling. for people who don't see themselves represented in a realistic way very often. she has clear hurts, traumas, scars, and it does not define her. she's a capable doctor, she's intelligent, she's kind.

yes, she is kind, extremely so. she has very clear, strong morals and sense of justice. no, she's not always 'nice', but nice and kind are different things. she took in a homeless man despite her trauma involving men. she didn't let a suicidal patient slip through the cracks, was the only one to notice and comfort him. she didn't let Langdon slip through the cracks— he probably would've never gotten the help he needed if she hadn't spoken up about something she knew to be wrong.

sure, she can have a short temper, she can be irritable and snappy and sarcastic. but she never lets shit go too far. I see so many people get mad at her for ribbing Dennis over losing Mr Milton— she immediately after said it wasn't his fault. she made it clear she didn't think he actually killed his fucking patient.

the hate on her for talking to a goddamn baby is crazy. first of all, I cannot believe you all did not find that shit hilarious. second... the baby does not care 😭😭 the baby does not understand her 😭😭 y'know what the baby did understand? soft, soothing singing and a finger to hold.

it is so so important to me and many others to have someone like her on this show. trinity santos is an incredible character.
