The fact that Baby 5 and Buffalo were able to tell Law their "true names" and demand his in return despite Baby 5 coming with that name and Law having zero indication of using a codename implies there's a story there...

(Doflamingo teaching a very small Baby 5 to play cards one day)

Baby 5: "Hey this one looks like Trebol's watch!"

Doffy (indulgently): "That's because it's the same. See, this a Club - Trébol - and these are Diamond, Spade, and Heart - Diamante, Pica, y Corazón."

Baby 5: "😲 But those are all the Executives?!? Did you name the cards after them? Or did you have to search all over the ocean to find people with names that matched?" (eyes the cards dubiously) "That sounds super hard, young master."

Doffy: "🤣🤣🤣 I didn't have to find them - those are codenames. They stopped using their true names and picked new ones for the Family."

Baby 5 (awestruck): "Then does everyone have a codename? Do *I* have one? Can Baby 5 be my special codename???"

Doffy: "Of course 🤣 but you'll need a secret true name if you're using Baby 5 as your Family name. Were you ever called anything else?"

Baby 5: "I don't think so... 😢 Does that mean I can't have a codename? 🥺" (definitely moments from bursting into tears)

Doffy (panicking slightly): "Orrrr we could pick you a true name. A really good one that just the two of us will know! 🤣 How does that sound?"

...and this is how Baby 5 gets a ridiculously flamboyant, Doflamingo-chosen "true name" that she tells no one until Law and Buffalo, and a deep seated conviction that everyone is choosing new names when they join up with the Donquixotes, lol

Look, Doffy has done a LOT of terrible things, but murdering Baby 5's fiancees? That's not one of them. Or at least it's very justifiable!

Like Sai seems like a nice guy, but there is no way ALL eight of the previous guys were also just nice guys. We even saw that with the creepy old guy with shadowy henchmen! But I feel like a lot of people think Doffy is being unfair? Or maybe just overreacting? Which yes, Doffy loves overkill, but also these men are essentially trying to kidnap Baby 5? How else would you expect him to react? With any other character we would be cheering them on!

Hell, that's exactly how we reacted to Riku's Army saving the Tontattas trapped in the SAD factory!

The Tontattas, like Baby 5, can easily be tricked into believing something/working for someone who doesn't have their best interests in mind, despite the fact they are otherwise fully capable people! But nobody makes the argument that Franky was being unfair when he broke into the SAD factory to take out the guys enslaving them!

If somebody rocked up to Dressrosa after Doffy's arrest and asked the Tontattas to work in his factory 24/7, but don't worry! He SWEARS it's for the good of Dressrosa! There would be zero questions asked, before kicking the guy's ass, regardless of what he claimed his reasons were!

It's the same thing with Baby 5! Even if a couple of these guys genuinely cared for her, Doffy can't exactly be blamed for assuming the worst when the last three guys were trying to kidnap or exploit her! And this is not even getting into the absolute minefield of consent issues given the fact Baby 5 literally cannot say no to a request!

I just think that Doffy having an extreme response to Baby 5 getting "engaged" is perhaps a little more reasonable than he's given credit for
