Let's be honest, reading books and buying books are two completely different hobbies.

I was on vacation from work last week and found myself so bored after a few days that I decided to get creative and make these blind date with a book. And I realized how fun they are to make, never would I have thought I would have so much fun with stamps. I went a little bit crazy with all the book shopping (okay a lot crazy, I might have more books than I have room for) but it has been so fun! Now I have a bunch of amazing books to read and a fun little side hobby apart from reading, and now my book shopping addiction has grown even more. My wallet is definitely not thanking me for this but any reason to buy books I am in for. Also I will find any reason to go spend a million dollars at the craft store because, well, it’s the craft store. I put a link on here, also there is a ton of super cute things on Etsy and lots of amazing sellers I am blown away by the creativity so make sure you check them all out!! I am in love with so many things I see on there!

I am still trying to get the hang of this whole social media thing.. I have been kind of a recluse for a long time and have only lurked on sites and have never posted my own things. I have realized that it is kind of fun to put myself out there! I am still definitely awkward as can be but I guess practice makes perfect!

So excited to read Dance with the Fae Prince! I have loved books about the fae for as long as long as I can remember! My favorite series will forever be the Modern Faerie Tale series by Holly Black. It’s been almost 20 years (omg how 😭😭😩) since I read Tithe and that brought my love for the fae to a new level.

Does anyone else love carnival/faire books? I absolutely cannot recommend this series enough! It is one of my all time favorite reads. Cora works at a bank and leads a mundane life. Until one day The Faire comes in to town. A piece of her is taken when she enters the faire, and it wants more of her. I don’t want to give too much away because this book is an absolute gem. Please please please check it out, if you like man eating circuses, creepy carnies, and immortal deities, then this series is for you!

King of the dead.

My kindle library is overflowing with books. I like to read a lot of fantasy, and a lot of dark fantasy. I recently read the book Land of the Beautiful Dead by R. Lee Smith and absolutely adored it. This story takes place in a post apocalyptic society, where the world has been taken over by this God like entity who has the power to raise the dead. The main character, Lan, sneaks her way in to the city of the dead, to speak with their ruler. She ends up striking a bargain with him, and begins a journey of growth and new life. Every character in this book has such depth, and such heartache. I feel like the character development from each character alone is a reason to read this book, and the world they live in is just so real I feel as though I am living there right beside Lan. I highly recommend this book. It is a bit on the longer side, at around 700 pages, but I don't think I've ever finished a book so quickly I was so eager to know what happened next.

For my first recommendation...

Red Winter. This amazing trilogy by Annette Marie is one of the greatest books I have read in a while. Full of Japanese mythology and folklore, it is the story of a shrine maiden who is destined to become a God. This urban fantasy contains a world filled with yokai, kami, and mystery. Annette Marie creates such vivid worlds, and brings so much life to her characters. The romance is swoon worthy, and the action fits in so seamlessly. The character development is 10/10.

I would give this trilogy 5 stars.

A Little Bit About Me

Hello all! I am Lana Kat! I am new to Tumblr, and new to posting online in general. I tend to keep to myself, and am a little bit nervous about putting myself out there, but here it goes! I am not entirely sure what all to say about myself, if indeed I want to say anything, but here are a few things about me. I am a book lover, I love to read fantasy romance, the more supernatural the better. I don’t ever leave my house without my kindle. The bookstore is my favorite place to go, although I am super picky about what books I want to keep because storing them can be a pain. I wanted to use this platform to talk about books I’ve read and maybe give some reviews on them. I might branch out to other things but I am uncertain yet. Stay tuned!
