i appreciate all of those that have come out in support!! i do think that's all the asks i'm gonna reply to on that matter tho. everyone's entitled to their own opinions (as wrong as they may be), i just don't think my inbox is the place for someone who doesn't like lando to soapbox about it and i don't wanna keep giving them the reaction they're looking for, so topic change indeed!

lando moment: just everything about monaco! he was so so happy i wish i could bottle it, from the glorious champagne pop to the white suits to jenson doing the post race interview to the way he celebrated with his parents (that one clip of him hugging adam!! 😭) setting a new track record with pole and winning and fastest lap!!

oscar moment: the griddy saudi was glorious!! his first lap overtake on max! and that bold overtake on lewis!! his little fist bumps in the car once he crossed the finish line!!! and not to be cliche but i love when he curses on radio 🤭 the fireworks were a lovely touch, and bonus points for when he got squished like a squeaky toy by zak and the ass slap heard round the world by lando

I just saw you shared a thought about Lando and about some of zealous fan. It’s insane how this particular fan and her group of friends are always their and to be honest I’m glad people finally talk about how she is ALWAYS there, stalking him. Trust me she is known from a group of people from certain GPs and we are a lot disliking her and her group of friends. Not because she manages to get pictures with Lando but because she’s stalking him and disrespecting others fans or acting like mean girls, ready to do anything to get pictures with drivers (going to hotel, running after car, blocking window car when the driver stops for autographs/pictures). And what’s pissing me off if that she keeps getting more and more visibility and still winning contest to go to others GP. And clearly I’m sorry to say it but clearly I saw Lando’s smile disappear more and more he takes pictures when her and her friends over the year…. I’m glad Rich is there tbh

constantly going to gps/approaching lando is one thing bc that's her money to waste on paddock passes and merch for him to sign, but it's so upsetting to hear she's being disrespectful to other fans. unfortunately, i don't think there's anything that could really be done about this unless we as fans keep bringing attention to the problem, so i'm glad you filled me in on all of this! all we can do is stop interacting with her content and giving her the visibility (i've blocked her now)

to clarify, what i meant when i referenced that clip was just that i don't think she's seen as a violence threat, as i'm sure lando and rich recognize her by now, and rich didn't seem 'on guard' to me. watching it again knowing all this, it kinda seems like he's trying not to smile so she's probably seen as more of a nuisance to them than anything, with them kinda just side-eying each other about it. knowing all this tho i think its even sweeter lando signed the helmet again when the first sig didn't turn out great, but he's a better person than me

exactly!! and he's spoken about how shaken up he was after it. rich was brought in last year around summer break, and i think it's no coincidence that was right before lando went to berlin to watch the euros final, the same event he was mugged at 3 years prior. it may be precaution, but i'd rather rich be around. better safe than sorry and all

no disrespect but why do you keep bringing up oscar when talking about lando's bodyguard?

hi anon! fair question. while i don't keep as much track of oscar's bodyguard, i have gotten used to spotting him. not every lando fan does follow/care about oscar's team, so it provides context. i also think bringing him up serves as a useful metric when evaluating some of the comments i've gotten, for example:

"lando only has a bodyguard bc of his own anxiety" well oscar has one too, so that doesn't seem right.

"lando only has a bodyguard to seem famous" well oscar has one too, so that doesn't seem right either.

while i can't say anything with certainty bc we're all just working off our own assumptions, being able to compare helps me sort of weight whether i agree or disagree and give a thoughtful answer that could maybe help reframe things for the anon that sent it

I'm sorry but lando and oscar need no security from haters s haters are nothing outside of sm but from being mobbed by their own fans.

i mean that's not really for either of us to decide, is it? a previous anon with an athlete connection mentioned, and i agree, that there probably had to have been an internal risk assessment with lando's/mclaren's team to judge if these threats had any basis in order for them both having private security to be implemented.

i've said it before, rich is just as useful for crowd control, which is also for lando's protection. he's there to stop lando from being swarmed by fans, especially in busy paddocks or outside the hotels, and should there be a threat, to be able to step in and react appropriately. we as fans really don't get to see the full story and while i hope there's no larger threat that we're not privy too, i'd rather see them have security as a precaution than not at all.

Lando never made fun of George's panic attack. He was frustrated Merc didn't have to do media and mentioned how hard that race was on him too. No one even knew George had a panic attack at that point. No one cared with Lewis criticized drivers for struggling physically after Qatar 2023, a race in which he didn't even make the second corner. All of these drivers have made comments like that. People only care and say the hate is deserved when it's Lando.

If you hate a stranger this much, reevaluate your life and maybe get a job or a hobby.
