Reality?
What is reality? Is it what we perceive going on around us through our daily lives; a combination of our senses and experiences. Alternatively, is it a simulation played out in the mind as part of a grand universal illusion?
The mind plays a significant role in our understanding of the environment that we reside in. Each given moment experienced is an electro-chemical process, occurring inside the brain. That spark provides the potential of feeling emotion when witnessing an event or deciding on the next flight overseas, and that initial spark of thought drives each action.
What if we were able to see inside the mind during that moment or spark of thought? Would it be a burst of light, or an electrical storm erupting in the darkness? The singularity or flash of thought must have an origin, a beginning. What drives our thoughts or creates our ambitions? Is it the consciousness or is the mind more like a computer program that has already mapped out our future.

Abstract
I investigate the processes of thought in the human mind and where thoughts could potentially come from before that initial electrochemical process.
These photos explore the possibilities of the origins of thought referencing a range of fields of research including neuroscience, philosophy, physics and consciousness.
These creative works are a means of visually revealing and provoking the viewer to consider how we might view the relationships between these fields as they relate to the mind.
