I decided to edit and redraw parts of this card that I originally drew in 2024 as I return to this tarot series to bring it more in line with how I draw Caleb now

The Adonis’ flower in his hair symbolises ‘painful recollection/sorrowful remembrances’

Widogasts web of fire is such a visually and technically cool spell I couldn’t not draw it

I decided I didn’t like the original design of the four suits on this card as I didn’t really feel like it made sense for in-world lore reasons to just decided to include flame and Adonis flower motifs

After Caleb and Essek have their first real fight, Beau offers Caleb a safe solo research trip. It seems like the perfect way to distract himself from a house and a life that seems bent on reminding him of what is absent. Only, it turns out the trip is neither solo nor safe, as one Seth Domade was also invited, and the sea caves they are researching are full of forgotten life. Caleb has no idea what he is in for.

never going to sit down and write it because i don't have the attention span but i just had a vision of a fic set sometime not long after c2 where caleb and essek have some blowout fight and stop talking but they're really annoying about it to everyone else so beau (after a suggestion and some needling from jester) devises some sort of mission that's supposed to be 1. low stakes 2. solo, where they both show up and lock eyes and realize they've been played but neither of them are petty enough to drop a mission given by the cobalt soul so they have to grudgingly work together on it. it stops being low stakes very quickly

this is funnier if essek is in his seth disguise for the first time and it takes caleb all of 30 minutes to figure him out because of his shitty attempt to hide his accent and the unexplained attitude towards him that only makes sense if its essek
