Continuing with the oc doodle prompts, I couldn't resist putting mica in underwear 🕊️ They prioritize comfort and security over aesthetic and as someone with not a lot of boob that can mean anything from tape to sports bras to loose bras without any kind of wires/padding. But when it comes to panties that's the one item in their entire wardrobe where they allow themselves to give in to their cuter and funner side, liking anything that has frills, patterns, lace, ribbons, etc 💖

Mica clinging to their villain plans is obv in part due to not being able to get revenge on the people who hurt them through legal/heroic means (+ even if they could idk that it would be enough for how much they were hurt to feel like any justice was done) but I think there's also a bigger part (that they're mostly unaware of) that plays into their descent to villainy and that's how much the farm destroyed their sense of self and who they used to be, to the point where they don't really know who they are anymore/who they could be so they HAVE to choose this villainous career or else they're truly nothing.

really love a corruption arc where the character is trying way too hard to make it work but they're in over their head and it's uncomfortable and embarrassing and they're swallowing their own puke every time they do something awful and damp with sweat and trembling but insistent that they can do this, they want it, they're not a child, but it's like they're playing dressup in clothes that are too big for them and trying to convince their own reflection in the mirror that they fit and it's just no fun to watch at all

+ then they find inside them a capacity for cruelty far more upsettingly vicious than anyone could have imagined and decide that because they enjoy how unafraid it makes them feel for the first time in as long as they can remember it must have been their true nature all along instead of something that had to be starved in the dark until it grew desperate enough to claw its way out 🙂‍↕️

I love how the biggest secrets Mortum and Ortega are now keeping from mica (the fucked experiments and the being a telepath assassin) are perfectly positioned to fuck with what mica fears the most abt becoming involved with both (Mortum seeing them only as a curious specimen/Ortega selling them out to the government)

I don't like thinking too much abt it because i Do want an eventual happy ending for them but it's still fun to think abt how much the fakeself stuff is going to fuck up mica and ortega's relationship. Mica building up their walls again to be worse than they were before they even met, them being unable to really accept his physical displays of affection when before they made many exceptions, the inability to even begin to accept any attempt he might make at saying he loves them or really any form of verbal endearment, the newfound unshakable belief that they're being made fun of and messed with, ortega's possible frustration with the past 7 years of their relationship (+ 5 years of grief) suddenly not mattering at all when he's made one (1) mistake... yay 🕊️

...I can't stop thinking about Ortega calling fakeself Sidestep a tool to their face. This really is one of those things that Sidestep is never going to be able to forget! Like, non-fakeself Sidesteps who tell Ortega what they are/are in a situation where Ortega finds out might wonder how much Ortega really believes Re-Genes are people versus tools and how much Ortega sees all Re-Genes as people versus just seeing Sidestep as an exception and that doubt is probably going to nag at them. But fakeself Sidesteps know for a fact that there is a line in the sand and if that line is crossed Ortega will just straight up dismiss their humanity! Even if fakeself is resolved (hell, even if it's resolved in the guilty ending; the fact that there's a variable for formerfake suggests that that's gonna come up again), I don't think "Ortega learned what I was and what I'd done and decided I was an inhuman copy of myself before even talking to me about it" is knowledge that's going to just go away! You can't just dismiss someone's personhood when they do something wrong (even if they legitimately aren't human by the strictest definition) and I can see so many ways that that can haunt Sidestep and come back to bite Ortega.
