Ok, but really. Shortly after my roommate and I really got into snk we go over to our friend’s apartment to eat some Chinese and watch some anime (like you do). She thinks we might like this show, tells us to hold off on judging for the cheesy vampires “it gets better”. Then the show actually got going and my roommate and I CANNOT STOP LAUGHING. It was 100%, no question, a glorified snk rip-off with vampires. From character traits and appearance to background design to facial expressions. I think we made it through episode 2 before we made her turn it off and made her watch snk instead which she is now also gloriously obsessed with @the-fanciful-fangirl @lordjeanliness

In regards to the similar animation, it is because they are both animated by the same studio, therefore it makes sense that the appearances, background design and facial expressions may come off as similar looking.

The story, on the other hand, is actually sorta similar at first. The story of a boy growing up under the threat of vampires/titans and swears to eliminate “every last one of them” kind of story. It seems to be heading the same direction in the start but both stories are actually very different. You’ll see this is you give it a chance.

I don’t want to give any spoilers though, but in regards to the similar character traits, I’m gonna guess you referring to Eren and Yuu. Though Yuu and Eren share similar traits in the first few episodes,Yuu’s character develops and he grows out of it after a certain encounter, unlike Eren, who’s still a blood thirsty titan slayer.

I know this post sorta seems like it contradicts my first post, but that was just a joke.

Yuu never really showed any interest towards opposite sex since the very first (c'mon, he practically saw Shinoa and Mitsuba almost naked and no reaction?? He is a 16 years old teenage boy, for God’s sake, and it’s not everyday he saw female’s body, right?), but he openly showed his adoration towards male counterparts (saying Yoichi looks good in his casual clothing, admiring Kimizuki and his capabilities in driving and hot wiring - and cooking probably - and don’t make me start all he has done with Mika).

Actually he treated it as something, maybe, annoying or disturbing, like when he got a love letter from a female student he saved (in chapter 2, I guess), he blushed but didn’t look happy and said he didn’t have time for that (of course, all his time is dedicated to look for Mika, the long-lost boyf… I mean, family) and he brushed off all Shinoa’s teasing…. (and from recent development we know Yuu isn’t THAT innocent since he already knew about sex since 12 years old)

I mean, in the squad, Yuu seems to have more interest with his male friends rather than the female ones. It’s only my opinion, but with Kagami-sensei himself saying Mika as ‘The Wife’ and Yuu as ‘heroine’, and then the anime producer saying Mika and Yuu as Romeo and Juliet… what else do we expect? A pure straight Yuu? Well….. I don’t know…..
