So I have been thinking about what androids could be made out of and something that I see in fanfiction a lot is that androids are made out of something called 'plastimetal' which does actually exist but I don't think it works in the way that it's supposed to in the fanfiction (I looked it up and what I found was plastic and metal that kind of merged over time).
So I believe they would mostly consist of different plastic materials.
And because Cyberlife makes sure that androids seem as lifelike as possible (seen in 'Secrets of androids') I think they would also make sure that androids feel the same as humans if you touch them, especially models like the WR400 and HR400 or other intimate companions or friendship models (the GJ200 is literally just supposed to simulate friendship).
So the limbs and 'muscle' and 'fat' would be mostly thermoplastic and elastomers with some kind of heating.
The bone structure would be something more stable, probably a mix of duroplastic and aluminium.
Especially Connor would have more titanium though because it's stronger and it would explain why his model is more expensive (along with other reasons ofcourse). And the bone would be like bird bones to reduce weight and increase speed during chases.

Omg yes, i was thinking about this a while ago. Im very interested in what androids are made of. I think what you said about the bone structure seems very correct.
I've thought about how the androids feel on the outside a lot. As you said, the WR400 and similar models would obviously have to feel human and not metal, so I wonder what their skin could be made of. We see multiple times that the androids can disable/ hide their skin at will, but they also lose it when they're damaged/ low on thirium. Does this mean thirium is a component in what their skin is made of? And if so, how does it solidify into not being a liquid?
We also see that the androids can hide their hair (like in the scene where kara & alice go to the android destroying camp, and they're told to hide their skin and hair etc). But what is their hair made of then??? They must be able to grow and shorten their hair at will, but if so, why did kara cut her hair in the game with scissors? Also what is the hair made of too?
I defo think that they have a strong metal structure, like bones, then the part we see in game when they hide their skin is probably somewhat soft (even though it looks very metalic)
Anyways i love yapping (this might be a bit unstructured, but ive a lot of thoughts on this whoops). I think the most interesting part to me is that the skin/ hair is retractable, and also is thinner when theres not enough thirium
