Absolutely love everything that you do. The characters have so much depth with just a few verbal lines, but such expressive progression of color and visual emotion.
Not sure you intended it, but I'm fucking in deep over this sort of Mentor/Mentee Price+Ghost very early post-Roba dynamic you have going (I think its meant to be freestanding Price/Ghost story?), where you've built this possibility of youngish Price/Soap eventually evolving to current Ghost/Soap all in the same timeline. The mentee stepping into the mentor's footsteps, even if accidental, so much so that he gets his Mentor's exes is so filthy good. If you can't crawl into the Mentor's skin, you might as well become him by surrounding yourself with his things.
Tl;dr: you've got to be probably my absolute favorite on this website and maybe top 5 on the entire internet. Always a good day to see something new, and I wanted to make sure you knew how appreciated you and your art is. Hope you have a brilliant day!
TOP FIVE????????????????? 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭 smoking-ace..... thank you for enjoying.. I am deeply undeserving of these honors, but will endeavor to become worthy of them for the rest of my days… I love you (tears out my heart)
and your BEAUTIFUL MIND,,,,,,, you put it all perfectly: "If you can't crawl into the Mentor's skin, you might as well become him by surrounding yourself with his things." this very simply captures Ghost's regard for Price, having imprinted on him post-Roba with nothing left, cored-out - it makes every sense that he'd want to just BE Price, who is so in control and driven by his own will
You are so right I think Price sort of "handed down" Soap to Ghost like a well-polished weapon, but I don't believe Price ever crossed THAT line with Soap (whereas I 1000% believe his '09 counterpart DID) - because Soap CAN'T really be handled that way, and it would in fact muddy their working relationship, which Price can't have. (my hc is that Price largely uses sex for negotiations - not even manipulation - because he is more war than he is human) (also I think Soap would not have welcomed it, despite deifying him as much as Ghost does... but I will not bore you with my HORNY AF theorizations about tHAT #soaprice4ever)
Ghost on the other hand - Price knows that blurred line is very useful with him. Ghost needs BOTH hands on him, and I think Price rightly recognized the convenience of using each other's bodies as weapon AND for comfort in those early days, in order to sustain Ghost through his darkest time (whether this was ethical/responsible is ofc debatable, but whether it was HOT...... irrefutable)
And then Price formed 141, attached Soap to Ghost and shipped them to latam - and here WE are now, in tatters about it…
