I just watched the dbh connor playthrough the first time and need to talk about a silly little thing.
You know how Connor has these little things he does like constantly checking his appearance, tidying his cuffs(?), straightening his tie?
I like it when people say it's because he's fidgety either because it's a personality quirk or because he was built for high-stakes situations with high levels of stimulation.
Though another explanation I imagined was that it's due to Connor's programming needing him to integrate with humans seamlessly, leading to this self-conciousness and even sort of "vanity" for his appearance? Like, his programming demands him to look trustworthy, approachable and charming. And it translates to Connor as, "people like me if I look nice/perfect".
Idk y'all....my two??? My one cent on this....I'm not far into the fandom yet but Connor is so interesting and to that extent, the whole android worldbuilding aaaaaaaa

I had the thought of Kamski x Sixty and it would not leave my brain until I drew something for it. Elijah who has a fascination with androids and their deviancy. Sixty who fights his deviancy every inch of the way. I wanted to capture something clinical. Something that grows from desperation and longing. Elijah fixes Sixty slowly and develops an attachment that is certainly not healthy in the slightest. Does it make them better for each other if they both are clueless about who they should be? Does it make it worse that one loves control and the other needs to be commanded? I love picking these silly characters to shreds sometimes
No matter what bullshit some characters say in the game regarding androids, what needs to be clear is this…
Alive or not, they're still machines regardless. I hate how the game treats the word "machine" as if it's a slur, like it's some derogatory act to state what they are. Because regardless of whether or not they're sentient, they ARE machines! They're made of plastic, metal, engines, circuitry, wires, electricity, motors, valves, motor fluid, and computer chips. And ya know what that makes them? DING DING DING! You guessed it! Machines! It seems like Markus' line got misinterpreted by the audiences (both in the game and in real life) when he says "We're not just machines. We are alive." Keywords: "not just machines"! He ain't saying that they aren't machines at all, but that they're more than just machines too. It's why Rose's line "THEY ARE NOT MACHINES! THEY ARE ALIVE!" really makes me so angry. No, ya dunce! They ARE machines! They always have been machines and they always will be. Ffs, David Cage! Look what you've done! Treat your audiences like they're stupid and they WILL be stupid!

so heres a reference of all the Black characters I could find:

it's interesting, the game itself is really diverse and tackles themes on racism, yet the hair is super repetitive and basic. Most charecters either have a short fade or a little ponytail. Several NPC's even have the exact same model!
The only characters with a unique style here are Foweler, Amanda, Rose and Luther! Fowler is totally bald, Amanda has braids, Rose has her hair out in curls and Luther has locs. Lucy is a special case since she technically doesn't have hair yet to me, the wires and tubes kinda look like locs
I wish there was a bit more diversity with these kinds of things. Of course, making realistic 3d hair is super tricky... even straight hair like North and Kara is tied down for technical reasons
but. creating good Black hairstyles in a realistic style isn't an impossible task, and absolutely can be done
