Why do you define it devastating? Do you mean something else apart from his losses?

Besides Fizzy’s and Jay’s deaths, Louis has had to struggle with setbacks in his career and personal relationship(s). To me, this is abundantly clear in his songs, and I mean in both in romantic relationships as well as friendships (songs like Fearless). There are moments of epiphany everywhere in his songwriting, but also moments where he realizes how pure and deep his emotions were in the past (We Made It, Always You, Too Young), how bright and happy life once was.
