haven’t posted in a while because this is all i’ve been listening to - i only discovered it last month and it quickly became one of my favourite albums of 2019. love the lyrics on this one.

i’ve been listening to this album over and over this week - some really memorable lyrics, interesting tempo changes within songs, and it’s really catchy. love it!
one more favourite from meredith - CM are one of my favourite bands in melb so i was happy to see them but i didn’t expect them to be one of the best of the fest - they had such a huge sound. can’t wait for the live videos to come out
another favourite from meredith - i hadn’t listened to this album before and this was the closing song - instant favourite
viagra boys were my favourite act at meredith this year - their style of rock n roll is so infectious and the lyrics are so funny. can’t wait to hear more from them
really fun garage pop from canada - this reminds me of the sunny heyday of burger records (dead ghosts, together pangea, audacity, bare wires)
i found this band using a website called discover quickly, which is great if you’re a spotify user. feels good to get out of the same loop of recommendations over and over again. anyway this band is great - reminds me of bonny doon, ultimate painting and nap eyes
in the last month uranium club have gone from being ‘just ok’ to being the best band i’ve heard in a long time. i love everything about this album - the funny lyrics, the impressive musicianship, the catchy-ness. it’s incredible! also worth checking out the live version of both parts of ‘operation’ from ‘live at arci taun’
the s-bends’ long-awaited debut album is out! i really like it - it’s got the singles they’ve put out over the last few years plus a few new tracks. this one’s a highlight for me :-)
i’ve also had this album on repeat - so angry, so anxious, so funny. excited for what these guys do next.
deliluh’s new album also came out this week and it delivers - they sound so accomplished! the layered guitars at the end of this song reminds me of that latest diiv album deceiver.
candy put out his new album this week, and it’s really nice. he’s got such a knack for catchy melodies. this song’s been stuck in my head for days!
i haven’t been posting lately because i’ve been sucked into an exciting new programming project that’s been taking up all my brain space, so i’ve just been listening to the same music over and over again. i’ve realised that hovvdy is my favourite ‘easy listening’ band - it’s so pleasant for when you’re focusing on something else. i never really got into this album but i’ve been listening to it a lot the last few days :-)
this rocks - you can tell as soon as the first horns kick in. this is the first track from the album out 15 nov
weekly roundup 10/11/19
deliluh - salford
post-trash posted about deliluh’s new LP ‘beneath the floors’ this week, and that’s how i got into this band. ‘salford’ is the last song off their EP ‘oath of intent’ and it rips. can’t wait to hear the full new album.
uranium club - opus
this is the week that uranium club have really clicked for me - i’ve gone from “yeah this is pretty good” to “ok this is the best thing i’ve heard in a while”. their second album “all of them naturals” is fantastic from start to finish. would be amazing to see them live.
landowner - find out why
just heard landowner’s album blatant for the first time this week. they’re such a tight band! really great anxious minutemen-ish political punk.
dry cleaning - phone scam
been listening to both of dry cleaning’s EPs quite a bit this week, they’re definitely a band to watch. love the mix of the guitars and the singer’s voice. lyrics in this song are great too!
sacred paws - brush your hair
seems like the latest sacred paws album went under the radar - only heard it for the first time this week. absolutely love rachel aggs’ (also in the band shopping) guitar work here. fun dancey indie pop.
this is some of the most imaginative psych pop music i’ve heard in a long time - i love the twists and turns
one of my favourite synth pop albums of the last couple of years - catchy melodies and outspoken political lyrics
