The inside trackon how to get maximum speed and accuracy in fiber laser engraving is revealed in this infographic from SPI Lasers
When engraving using fiber lasers, unwanted material is removed to the required depth and shape to create an engraving. The process has striking similarities to laser ablation, where a pulsed fiber laser beam is used to target unwanted matter on a surface. The laser is used to irradiate and vaporise the targeted matter, effectively cleaning the surface. In the laser engraving process, a high degree of precision can be achieved through the control of the output power and wavelength of the pulse. There are four basic steps that can be easily followed during the process. These steps are well explained in this illustrative infographic by SPI Lasers. The infographic also explains how the process can be suitable for a range of industrial applications that use a number of different materials.
