thank you, thank you. i like to believe i'm able to pull off the caveman look. she did look at me like a stranger, until i spoke. i've been told my voice is pretty unique, so that's probably why it calmed her down. you drive people crazy in a lot of ways, but i meant that you don't in the annoyance way. although you do give off chihuahua vibes.
Whew, I'm so glad that I wasn't the only one excited for it. You going to go crazy with photographing the entire trip? It's always nice when someone else can relate - it makes me feel less...I don't know, lame. I've been loving it. I've been able to catch up with some friends, and that in itself has been fun. You know, always on the straight and narrow.
fuck nah. getting to see a reindeer was the peak of the trip. i did take quite a few photos, yeah. the memory card in my camera filled up fast. you're not lame by any means, love. not in the slightest. i'm glad you had a good trip. are you happy to be back home now though? and where is home for you these days?

I have to know, what's the one thing you're most excited about doing while you're on this trip? Because I cannot wait to check out the spa. I was looking at everything they have to offer and in this weather, I think the sauna is the best place to be. Or the hot tub. Just anywhere that's warm. / @zaynjmaliiks
the one thing i was most excited for were the northern lights. they were fucking stunning and so clear out here. the art gallery really caught my eye too, since i'm a bit of an artist myself. hot tub, you say? i might have to join you for that. maybe with a glass of something cold. i've always enjoyed a hot tub session with a pint in hand.

the reindeer safari really got me excited as well. i've never seen one, so i brought my camera and fucking all. easily amused is not a bad thing, love. i'm the same way in a lot of ways. how are you enjoying the trip otherwise? been getting into trouble or staying on the straight and narrow?

i think it did too. i may have leaned into the whole caveman hermit image. oh, i've been able to grow a beard for ages, but just never thought about doing it fully. but i went all out and it's done with... for now. when the beard was gone she couldn't recognize me for a full minute, which was pretty funny. drive people crazy? i somehow doubt that'd ever happen.

the beard had its moment for sure, but yeah, it's gone now. it was just a "why not" type of situation, like try it out, test it, see the reactions. but being back to the stubble and a fade feels more like me again. but thanks for the vote of confidence, love.
I'm sure I will. I hope she loves me back, though. How could I? You know I'm a softie too, so if anything it means I'm proud of you becoming more like me in that sense! I can only imagine how surreal that must feel. That's such a fun age though, everything's an adventure to them. Must be mad seeing bits of yourself in her but also this whole new little person with her own world forming. You're doing a cracking job, though. She's lucky to have you as her dad, even if she's growing up way too fast for your liking. Maybe some other time I'd say something like I can handle a rake without taking myself out… probably. i doubt anywhere has a rule like that but i wish they did. it would be fucking brilliant not to have to listen to christmas songs for a full two months out of the year. it makes me go insane every fucking year. i won't judge out loud, but i'll be annoyed in silence. i think i could deal with the olsens for day. no free invites? damn... what do i have to do to earn one?
I'd happily trade a week of city madness just to wake up to that kind of serenity. I love that she's basically earned her spot in the house after that stunt, when I make it there I want to befriend that chick right away. That's true, though maybe I should rephrase that and say you've gone even softer. How's the little one? She's already turned five, right? It's crazy to say that out loud! i can't fucking help that i love my animals. i love waking up surrounded by dogs and cats, hearing the chickens clucking outside. serenity at its best. but yeah, the little chick is now named nike after the shoe she ended up in and has taken up permanent residence in my house. gone soft? i think that came from being a girl dad more than anything else, but sure... the chickens have played a small part in it as well. farm life is dangerous, mate. you should come out for a visit soon, yeah? we'll get you your own pair of work boots and i'll put you to work. it's calming as fuck.
i thought i lost one of the recently hatched chicks today, but then i found it in my shoe and my heart fucking melted, mate. it's hard not to get attached to the damn chickens, which is why i don't name them anymore, but i might just have to keep this one for good. | @tmhclland
