A little more experimental than usual! Hopefully itâs not too over the top ââââ
This probably wasnât intentional, but with Homura it felt to me that Homura is falling and desperately grabbing onto the chains to bring Madoka down with her. We see in Rebellion and even in the original anime how Homura has spiraled to having only one priority, that being saving Madoka. While Homura is sinking deeper and deeper down into the abyss of obsession, she will continue to drag Madoka down and try to keep her there, even if it is impossible.
Edit: I donât know how I didnât think of it at the time but legit just the entire ending of Rebellion proves this. Stripping Madoka from the Law of Cycles and keeping her captive, makes a chains symbolize in this how Madoka is a prisoner and Homura is the warden. Also just the happiness on Madokaâs face reaching up to the law of cycles just continues my belief that the âHomura did nothing wrongâ statement is foolish.
