I want to learn more about kryptonians, could you tell me some differences between kryptonians and humans?
Sure, I'd be happy to :)
Here on Earth, under a yellow sun, our cells absorb solar radiation and unlock abilities that would seem… well, superhuman. But under a red sun like on Krypton, we're just like humans. In terms of needing to eat and sleep, not being able to fly etc.
If we remove the effects of a yellow sun:
Biologically, Kryptonians are far more resilient by default. Our bones are denser, our muscles more efficient and our cellular structure is more complex (this is all likely due to Krypton's higher gravity). Even without solar enhancement, we tend to have longer lifespans and stronger immune systems. We can adapt to new and different environments much faster than a human could. And our senses are sharper, though not superhuman.
Think of it like comparing a peak condition Olympic athlete with an average person - except the baseline for Kryptonians is much higher.
Don't forget how kryptonians are naturally prettier, Kal!
Ah that's subjective Kara. I think humans are very beautiful :)
I'm not saying they aren't, humans are wonderful!
Buuuuut they also haven't mastered genetic science yet. Kryptonians are very literally prettier by design!
I'm sure humans will get there one day too!

Kaaaaaal!
Do you know where Krypto is? The little sneak ran off with my cape in his mouth!
- @last-sun-chaser
He’s probably halfway to the Fortress by now.
Bring treats! It's the only way we're getting your cape back unscathed.
I'm gonna have to visit the farm first, I think... I'm all out of treats at my apartment!
In hindsight that's probs why he stole my cape...
How could you run out of treats?? You know that’s the only thing that makes him even slightly obedient.
Tell Ma and Pa I said hi if you swing by the farm though :)
I give him too many and then forget to restock! It's not my fault he's so cute I wanna spoil him!
But I'll let them know! It's been a little bit since I've visited anyway, too long if you ask me!

Kara awoke to a presence lurking over her bed.
@batgirlbitchs
It takes a second for her to register what exactly is happening - she's a kryptonian after all. Superhuman she may be but Kara has always felt that little bit of a sluggishness when the sun has set and the moon is high in the sky, like it is right now.
So when her vision clears up enough to fully comprehend that there is a person standing over her bed (albeit she's not awake enough to tell who it is just yet) her first reaction... Is to scream. How did this person get in her apartment! Do they know she's Supergirl?! Are they here to kill her?!
All of these questions are answered as Kara's scream dies before it leaves her lips... Thanks to a black gloved hand covering her mouth.
Kara could hear cass' heartbeat was a little fast. She stayed quiet and motionless and just stared.
She wasn't sure why she came to kara of all people but she did. She'd had a particularly bad fight and was a little shaken up. Bad for the other person not for herself
Frowning and making sure her senses aren't tricking her, Kara scans Cass over with her x-ray vision and sees a few minor wounds but enough to conclude she's been in a fight. A bad one at that, otherwise she wouldn't have a scratch on her. Sitting up in her bed, Kara tries to ask her friend what happened.
"Cass? What are you doing here, is everything oka-?"
Cass leans forward and places her head against Kara.
She hadn't gone back to the cave because she wasn't originally supposed to go out tonight, nor was she supposed to pick up the case she did, ontop of that it went horribly wrong. She wasn't feeling guilty for taking the case, though the outcome made her feel bad, but she didn't want to deal with a lecture.
And the only other non bat friend she had was Kara.
It doesn't take Kara very long at all to adjust, shifting to lie back down a little bit while wrapping both arms around Cass. They were friends and had been for a little while now, but this is a little bit out of character for her... Not that Kara is complaining. Cass is surprisingly nice to hold like this.
She maneuvers herself until Cass is half curled into Kara's side, her head hiding against the blonde's body as if to block out the world. She won't ask Cass what happened or why she's here without warning, because she doesn't really need to know.
Cass relaxes into Kara's arms.
"i left him on the ground.." she mumbled softly against Kara. Cass did not move to look, she didn't want to.
"Left who?" She asks, her own voice just as soft which for Kara is much more uncharacteristic compared to Cass. She's respecting her friend's obvious desire for a quiet, peaceful moment after the night she's had, and a small part of her is honored that Cass sees her as such a safe space. It's not what she would've predicted all those months ago when Cass was oh so cold and dismissive of Kara's help, but since then the young Bat has warmed up to her.
And now she trusts her enough to let her walls down like this, barely even reacting when Kara's gentle fingers glide through Cass' hair, untangling the knots formed from fighting and wearing her cowl all evening.
Maybe Cass is drawn to Kara's warmth like a cat to concrete in the sun. Whatever it is Cass is enjoying herself.
"the guy...i hit him too hard..." Her body language shifts when she speaks but relaxes again into Kara.
It's not what Kara expected to hear. Cass is normally so careful, even moreso than the other Bats she's worked with, so for her to not just hit a man too hard but to actually admit it? It must be affecting her more than Kara had first thought.
She moves again until Cass is laying atop her chest, Kara's arms encircling her like a bunker of sunny warmth and safety, trying without words to erase the judgement and self loathing from Cass' mind if only for a moment.
Plus... Kara herself enjoys holding her, the coolness of Cass' body making a nice contrast to her own furnace-like temperature.
She closes her eyes and presses her nose against Kara's neck
"i was scared to look" and she instead fled to Kara's place. She'd figured out where it was like 2 weeks ago but only now used it
Despite herself, Kara bites her lip when Cass nuzzles her neck and sighs, tightening her grip ever so slightly on the other girl. She's supposed to be comforting Cass and yet it feels like Kara herself is the one being given affection like Cass is a cat. But she's not so caught up in the bliss that she can't respond, especially when Cass is so clearly uncertain and... Dare she say, afraid?
"You didn't do it on purpose, Cass. You didn't mean it."
Your glasses work wonders.
Also Kara and I may have stolen a pair but in our defense Lois said it was ok
@spencer-todd
Well if Lois said it was okay, who am I to argue? :)
I'm going to check with her just to be sure though.
Oh, we didn't use them, but you haven't noticed the missing Gotham branch of Lex Corp have you?
... No?
@last-sun-chaser KARA IT WORKED I TOLD YOU IT WOULD WORK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
HOW?!?!
THERE'S NOTHING SPECIAL ABOUT THEM, I CHECKED SO MANY TIMES!!
EVEN MINE AREN'T THIS GOOD WHEN THEY'RE SITTING ON MY FACE!!!

HEY SUPERGIRL I'M A BIG FAN BEEN SO LONG AND I WAS EXPECTING YOU'D NEVER MAKE A TUMBLR BUT SO GLAD IT FINALLY HAPPENED AAAGH
sorry i did this with kate kane too, hi i'm a girl please like me
@accidentaldccharacter
Aww thank you!! It's always really amazing to meet a fan, and I like all my fans so don't worry about that!
I think I've adjusted well? I've had my Tumblr for a little while now and it still finds ways to surprise me!
I hope you have a good day!!
AAAAGH SUPERGIRL TOLD ME TO HAVE A GOOD DAY! But also seriously, I'm not really emotionally capable. It's a real impediment. Hope you have a good day too. I will try not to bombard you with television questions. At least you're not a Doctor Who fan, I'd be insufferable/already am. Also, enjoy Tumblr!
I think you're doing just fine emotionally!
I am enjoying Tumblr although I am a little unfamiliar with television... What's a Doctor Who? Don't they have a name? So many questions!
