After hearing about the coffee theory I was really surprised that anyone thinks aziraphales reaction wasn't his own. I could be wrong but as someone who grew up in a very manipulative religious group it made sense to me and seemed like the most realistic reaction. Despite being kind of separated from heaven for a bit, he still believed in it. He stopped being part of it because he loved something/someone else more, not because he didn't believe in heaven and the good heaven could do. I've seen it a hundred times where people leave to be with someone or do something they "shouldn't" and then go back soon after. For Crowley the spell is broken, but Aziraphale can't understand that because he hasn't experienced it (yet🤞). Like I do think he's brainwashed but not the magic kind, the longterm manipulative kind.
