Shane had gotten home from tour a few days ago. You were so happy that he was finally home after not seeing him for what felt like FOREVER. The only thing the two of you have been doing for the past couple of days is spending time with each other, whether that was cooking, listening to his stories from tour, or cuddling together.
You two were now cuddling in Shane’s bed, with a show you both have watched multiple times playing in the background.
Shane was lying down, his head relaxing on his pillow. You were lying on top of him with your head pressed into his chest, facing him, sleeping soundly.
Shane was lightly running his right hand up and down your back, and his left hand was securely on your waist, holding you in place.
Your boyfriend turned his head to look at your peaceful face. A dopey and cute smile spread across his face as he studied your features. To him, you were the most beautiful and delicate person on Earth.
Shane grabbed his phone, which rested beside him on the bed, and pressed the camera icon. He found the perfect angle, snapped the photo, and looked at it immediately. His love for you grew more as he admired the picture he took.
His mind also wandered to a new trend that was happening with his song. Couples across the internet were recording their other half cuddling on each other's chests to his lyric: “I was scared to take a breath, didn’t want you to move your head.” ...He turned his volume to a low level, making sure not to wake you up, and opened TikTok.
He pressed the plus button at the bottom, selected the correct part of his song, and pressed the record button, capturing your sleeping figure comfortably laying on his chest.
After he reviewed the recording, he saved it to his drafts and put his phone back down beside him.

You stirred slightly, and Shane perked his head up.
“Hey, baby,” he said, his voice low.
You stretched your arm that was across his chest and looked up at him. “Hi,” you smiled.
He took his phone in his hand and opened TikTok, “I have something I wanna show you.”
“Oh, okay,” you said, adjusting yourself to see his screen better.
Shane showed you the video he took with his song overlay. “If it’s okay with you, I think it would be cute to post this. But I don’t have to if you aren’t comfortable with being public yet,” he said to you, never taking his eyes away from your face.
You smiled at his concern for your privacy, “Aw, Shane. You’re so sweet.” You kissed him softly. “You know what? Do it. It’s really cute.”
Shane raised his eyebrows, “Are you sure?”
You nodded. “Yeah,” you whispered, your eyes sparkling in the dim light.
Shane edited the draft to write “finally home from tour so i can experience this lyric irl”
“What do you think?” he asked, showing you the finished product.
“I love it!” you said enthusiastically.
Shane wrote “hard launch” as the caption and put his regular hashtags. “Do you want me to tag you?”

Shane giggled at you. “Alright, ready?” you nodded, and he pressed the post button and put his phone down.
You both knew that no matter what the internet's reaction was, it wouldn't matter because the love you and Shane have for each other is saturated in genuine romance.

Shane planned a romantic week-long getaway for your anniversary. You two have been dating for a year now. You have been to a countless number of his shows and have spent every waking moment with each other since declaring a relationship. He wanted to do something special that you would never forget for such an important milestone in your relationship. Shane found a cabin in the Vermont mountains for you guys to have the best week of your lives.
You and Shane have been at the cabin for a couple of days now. It was a beautiful cabin tucked away from any civilization. You both had plans for the whole week to do fun activities surrounded by nature, but so far, it has been raining the entire trip. You and Shane did stay inside, cuddling, watching movies, and singing songs together.
Now you were lying on his chest, soaking up all of his warmth, listening to the rain pound against the exterior of the house.
Your boyfriend let out a tranquil breath and moved his hand up and down your back, “This is so peaceful, isn’t it?”
You looked up at him, locking eyes. “Hmm, yeah,” you hummed with a smile.
You watched Shane turn his head towards the window, studying the rain falling outside.
After a moment, he turned his attention back to you and gave you a mischievous smile.
“What?” you asked, a little concerned, but intrigued, about what he had in mind.
He laughed, “Well…” he drew out the word. “Do you think it would be fun to just be in the rain?” he proposed, flashing you his silly, boyish smile.
You smiled at his suggestion and hid your face in his chest, giggling over it.
“Come on, Y/N! It’ll be fun!” he wrapped his arms around you, hugging you tighter as he bent his head down to rest on yours.
“Oh, okay!” you submitted to his idea.
“Yes!” he pumped one of his fists in celebration.
You and Shane got off the couch and started walking towards the sliding glass door. You took a moment to admire the heavy downpour you were about to be immersed in through the glass door.
Shane snaked his arm around your waist. “You ready?” he asked, looking down at you.
You took a breath. “Let’s do it!” You put your palm on the handle and pushed the door open.
The muffled rain sounds became amplified as you and Shane stepped outside, barefoot, on the saturated concrete patio.
The rain was at a lukewarm temperature and actually felt refreshing on your skin.
Shane grabbed your hand and started guiding you towards the grassy lawn. “WOOO!” he yelled out, turning towards you.
You chucked at his excited outburst.
He suddenly spun you around, wearing that big grin you loved on his face. His free hand stopped on your waist, his other hand resting gently on your face soon after. He pulled your body towards himself and gave you a deep and passionate kiss. The kiss was purely soft and warm. Shane craved the sweet scene the two of you were creating.
You both lightly unlatched lips and looked into each other's eyes.
“I love you so much,” you said, caressing his biceps.
“I love you so much, sweetheart,” he said, adoringly, stroking your cheek with his thumb.
You both stayed in the rain a little longer, exchanging tender kisses and memorizing every second spent.
Shane took off his T-shirt and sweatpants and stood before you in only his boxers. You raised your eyebrows at him, amused.
“What? I was being weighed down,” he defended himself, “Plus, it’s like a shower.”
He hugged you and kissed your temple. “Shower with me, Y/N.”
You blushed hard as you laughed at him. You peeled off your T-shirt and shorts, leaving yourself in your bra and underwear.
“Damn, for free?” your boyfriend blurted out in front of you.
You hit him playfully and laughed along with his antics.

“I’m gonna be honest, I was kinda bummed that it has been raining the whole time we’ve been here… but, I have also been enjoying being out in the rain with you,” he slightly pulled away, just enough to see your face. “I think this might be my favorite moment I have had with you so far,” he admitted, smiling.
You gave him a big grin and kissed him, “I think this is my favorite moment I have had with you, too, baby,” you said, wrapping your arms around him and leaning in to share another passionate kiss.
He lifted you off the ground, and you wrapped your legs around his waist, securing yourself.
You both stopped kissing a pressed your foreheads together, eyes still closed, enjoying the intimate moment.
You couldn’t help but think that if it hadn’t been raining during your trip, you and Shane wouldn’t have shared this exact moment.

“Happy anniversary, my love,” Shane whispered, his words ghosting against your lips.

It had been about two months since you last saw Shane. He had been pursuing his music career on tour across the country. You wanted to go with him, but you are in college. You guys facetimed when you could and texted all day, but you still could not help but feel a drift between the two of you. You didn’t know this, but Shane felt the same way. You both love best when you are together in person, it has just been so long since you last kissed your wonderful boyfriend. You were excited about him finally coming home. Unfortunately, he was coming home pretty late at night, so you would be asleep upon his arrival.
You woke up breathless, sitting up in the middle of the night. You heard some stirring around downstairs. Shane must be home! You got out of bed, yawning and rubbing your eyes as you went downstairs.
You heard sounds coming from the laundry room, where you found Shane on his knees in front of his luggage, nervously scratching the back of his neck.
“Hey, baby,” you said quietly, not to startle him.
He looked up at you from his bags and gave you a tired smile, “Hey, babe.”
Shane looked kind of rough. Handsome, of course, but rough. He looked like he had not slept in days. He had dark circles under his eyes, his movements were lethargic, and he did not seem focused. You weren’t gonna lie; his dry hello to you made your stomach drop.
He looked back at his luggage and started taking some of his clothes out and putting them in the laundry basket next to him.
“Honey, this can wait for the morning,” you told him, walking closer and putting a hand on his shoulder.
“No, I wanna do this right now. It’s driving me crazy,” he replied, with a sharp tone to his voice.
Your brows furrowed. You sat next to him, where you could see his face better, “Hey, are you okay?” you asked, running your hand down his back.
He looked away from you and did not answer. You felt his body shake slightly.
“Please talk to me,” you said.
He shook his head, continuing to look away from you. You took your other hand and grabbed his jaw to pull his face into view. Your heart sank at the sight of his eyes filled to the brim with tears, fighting for his life, not to let them fall.
“Oh, Shane…” you said, engulfing him in a hug.
Once in your arms, he let the flood gates go and started fully sobbing. His cries were desperate and filled with pent-up stress. His arms reached up and grabbed onto your shirt, his fists balling up the cotton material. You rubbed his back and whispered sweet words into his ears, trying to get him to catch his breath.
A few minutes have passed. Your boyfriend was still crying into your frame. He had calmed down a little since the initial sobs escaped from him.
“I- I’m sorry, Y/N,” he gasped out.
“Shhhh, baby, don't apologize,” you comforted him. “Can I see you?”
He lifted his head. His cheeks were stained with tears, and his face hung in exhaustion.
“Do you wanna tell me what’s wrong?” you asked, keeping your hands on his as a reminder of comfort, and so he wouldn’t fidget with his rings and nails.
He took a deep breath to ground himself a little, “I am just… so tired. I- I had fun on tour, but just coming home really brought out all the exhaustion. I also feel like… we have drifted a little since I’ve been gone, and I’m afraid of losing you. Please, God, I can’t lose you,” he sighed as more tears rolled down his face.
You traced circles on his hands with your thumbs and gave him a reassuring smile, “Aww, sweetheart, I think you are over-tired from touring and not getting a proper night of rest. Your feelings are valid, and I am so glad you shared them with me. And, you are never gonna lose me. I love you so much! You are always safe with me!” You moved one of your hands to his face and wiped his falling tears.
Shane leaned into your touch and closed his eyes, as more stray tears fell. You wiped them up and gave him and sweet kiss.
“Do you wanna come up to bed and cuddle?” you whispered after unlinking lips.
He nodded and let out a yawn. You stood up first and held out a hand for him to grab on to. He stood up and started following you up the stairs and into your shared bedroom.
You both flopped down on the bed and gravitated toward each other. Shane rested his head in the crook of your neck and let out a sigh, his body finally relaxing into the warmth of your body.
You two lay there for a while, soaking up each other’s love.
“I love you, Shane,” you said, turning your head to place a light kiss on his head.
He mumbled out an “I love you” back, making you smile.
You know he fell fully asleep moments later, when you felt his entire weight give out on top of you and his breathing slow.

As you were waking up, you heard your alarm sound distantly. You rolled over, turned off the alarm, and reviewed the notifications you had missed during the night. Your heart immediately skipped a beat when you saw a text from Shane.
SHANE:
“good morning! are we still on for today? :)”
You stared at the text for a second, reminiscing about the previous night's events before responding.
YOU:
“good morning! yes! i am so excited to go out with you today!”
You set your phone down and headed to your bathroom to get ready for the eventful day.
When you got home last night, you and Shane texted about what date you two should go on. You both agreed to go on a cute brunch date at one of Shane’s favorite cafes. You two also talked about both of your interests and other life events. You learned that he is a dedicated and very talented musician. You may or may not have stayed up a little later than usual listening to his music and stalking his socials. He is a very charismatic and lovely person. Unlike other guys, he asked so many questions about you and was genuinely invested in who you are and what you like. Dare you think he is perfect?
You got yourself together and put on a cute, but casual outfit with some light makeup.

“You look stunning!” he told you when you got a bit closer.
You looked away for a moment, “Oh! Thank you! I’m wearing a kinda bummy outfit today.”
“No way! Don’t say that; You are so pretty!” he retorted, opening the passenger door for you to slip inside.
You smiled and let out a light giggle at his comment.
He closed the door softly and then walked to the driver's side, getting into the vehicle.
He looked at you with twinkling eyes, “So I did get you something…because I think you deserve it.” He reached into the back seat of his car and brought out a gorgeous bouquet.
Your jaw fell slack, “Oh my god, Shane!” You raised your hand to cover your mouth in shock, “No one has ever done anything like this for me before,” you admitted.
“Seriously? That’s not fair to you!” he said.
You took the flowers from his hand and put them up to your nose to smell, “Mmm… they smell wonderful! Thank you so much!” You reached out with one of your arms and placed your hand on his forearm as an act of gratefulness.
The drive to the cafe was filled with interesting conversation between the two of you. Shane found meter parking near the cafe and made sure to keep you protected while on the sidewalk in downtown LA. He even opened the door to the restaurant for you.
You both sat down after ordering at the counter and continued your conversations. Even though it was late spring, the cafe was a little chilly. You tried to ignore the goose bumps growing on your skin until you took a sip of the tea you ordered and shivered.
“You okay? Are you cold?” he asked, furrowing his brow at you.
“I’m fine, it’s just a little chilly in here, is all,” you replied, smiling and looking away, feeling a little embarrassed.
“Here,” he said, taking off his leather jacket and handing it to you.
“Oh no, it's okay! You don’t have to,” you said, holding your hands up.
“Y/N, please, you have goose bumps! I’m actually kinda hot right now anyway,” he said, still offering his jacket.
You tilted your head and smiled as blush crept up your face. You took the jacket from him and put it around your shoulders, engulfed by his warmth and sweet scent.
“Thank you… I’m sorry if I am being awkward… you’ve been so sweet to me, and I can't explain how I am feeling right now. I mean, this is the best date I have ever gone on! I really appreciate everything you have done!” you told him, unable to look at his eyes until the end of your tangent.
He looked at the table in front of him and let out a quiet laugh, “You’re cute when you get flustered,” he muttered, locking eyes with you.
After you both finished your drinks and food, you walked back to his car. He opened both the door to the cafe and the car door for you and got in on his side again.
“I want to tell you that I am having so much fun with you,” he told you before starting his car.
Driving back to your house, you both talked and complimented each other the whole time. He drove into your driveway and turned off his car. You gathered your purse and your flowers, and he, moments later, opened the passenger side door and helped you out of his car.
He walked you up to your house as you fished for your keys to unlock the door.
“You wanna come in for a sec?” you asked the lanky boy to your left.
“Sure! I gotta make sure you’re all settled,” he chuckled.
You unlocked your door, and you both cruised into your house. He looked around your living room while you placed your bouquet and your purse on a nearby table.

“Oh, thanks! It’s been a work in progress,” you replied, briefly looking at him.
“So,” he started. You turned around to face him. “Did you enjoy today?”

There was a gravitational pull between you two. Your lips pressed together like a puzzle. Fireworks exploded in your stomach. The kiss was gentle, but firm. It was perfect!
After a long beat, you both regretfully pulled apart and looked into each other's eyes. He released a stream of air from his nostrils and smiled at you.
Your face was red and hot. You looked into his eyes and longed for that feeling again.
“Thank you so much for today,” you said.

“Okay, only two more hours,” you say to yourself, as you glance at your watch.
You work at a French restaurant in downtown Los Angeles, and you typically enjoy being there, but your shift felt like it was dragging on. You are rotating between the same six tables you usually do, and thankfully, you’re getting good tips tonight.
As you are cleaning off one of your tables, you see the hostess lead four guys to your table, yet one catches your eye more than the others: he’s tall, gorgeous, and dressed like a skater boy.
You turn to them with your rag and disinfectant in hand, “Hey, I’ll be right with you guys!”
The tall boy flashed a big smile to you, “Perfect!”
You felt your cheeks get hot, “Damn he is so cute!” you thought with a little smile on your face.
You travel back to take their orders, “Hi, I’m Y/N, and I will be your waitress this evening! What drinks can I start you guys off with?” you say, looking around the table. The tall guy looks into your eyes with steady contact. You look away nervously, aware of the blush creeping up your cheeks again.
“I’ll just have a water, Y/N.” he said with that sweet grin.
You look down at your notepad, writing it down. “Alright!” you giggle out shyly.
You go back into the kitchen and gather their drinks. Your hand them out to each of the boys. “Are you guys ready to order or do you need more time?”
They all look at each other nodding their heads. You get all of their orders and finally look at the tall one.
“I have a question,” he says, “What is your favorite dish on the menu?”
You look up squeezing your lips together, and stand in a more relaxed stance.
“Hmm, I would have to say our famous Lobster Thermidor,” you say looking back at him, twirling your pen in your fingers.
“I’ll have that then!” he says handing his menu to you, “Who am I not to take the advise of the professional?” he looks at you and around the table with his arms out and sly smirk on his face.
“Haha! I am no where near a professional,” you say giggling, writing down his order.
“Well, I trust you!” he says, putting his hand on his chest in a goofy fashion.
Waiting for the food to finish in the kitchen, you are visiting with the hostess, who is one of your close friends.
“Oh my god Y/N! That guy at your table is definitely interested in you!” she says enthusiastically.
“You think so? He’s really cute and so nice and really funny too; Oh, and did you see you tall he is?” you say to her excitingly.
“He’s been checking you out all night! What if this is your guy?” she says with a smirk.
“God, I wish!” you look back at her as you walk towards the kitchen.
Coming out with a tray of food, the tall guy is talking to his friend next to him, when he notices you and taps your guy on the arm, making him look up at your appearance.
You hand out all the dishes and ask if there is anything they need.
“Wow! The food looks amazing!” the tall boy says, taking a bite seconds later, “Mmm, I’m gonna need more food recommendations from you! This is delicious!”
You laugh at his goofiness, “I’m glad you like it!”
“Oh yeah! It’s good to know we have something in common,” he remarks.
You felt your cheeks getting hot again, “Haha! It’s the best dish, I swear!” you say, trying not to be an awkward mess in front of Shane. “I’ll check back in soon! Enjoy!”
You disappear to the kitchen with a smile, “He is totally flirting with me!” you think.
After about ten minutes, you come out of the kitchen to check on the tall guy and his table. With that, you deliver the bill and give back the debit card that one of them gave you. You tell them to have a good night. You go back into the kitchen to start your side work you have to do at the end of every shift.
Thankfully your side work did not take too long, all that was left was cleaning off the table Shane and his friends were at. You grab a rag and a spray bottle and head out to the dinning room.
Arriving at the table, you see the receipt the left behind flipped upside down. Before you pick it up you see there’s something written on it: “Call me! - Shane” with his phone number right beside it.
“Shane? Hmm, okay…” you note to yourself.
Your heart starts beating hard and fast in your chest. You smile at the note and put it into your pocket, and begin wiping down the table.
Once you get into your car you take the note out of your pocket. You stare at it for a second before gaining the confidence to call him.
The phone starts ringing, “I can not believe I am doing this!” you think to yourself.
“Hello?”
“Holy shit he picked up!” you freeze a beat, “Uhh hi! This is Y/N! From tonight!”
“Hi, Y/N. I am so glad you called me! I just wanted to tell you that I think you are very beautiful, and I want to get to know you!” he sounded shy on the phone.
“Uhh sure!” you giggle, “I think you’re pretty cute, Shane!” your heart flutters and your body shivers at the sound of his voice.
“Well if that’s the case…Would you want to maybe go on a date with me?” Shane says quietly.
You smile wide in your car, starting the engine, “Yeah, I would like that!”
“Great! Will tomorrow work for you?”
“Yes, It should!”
“Alright! Send me your address and we can talk some more about it later! I just heard you start your car so I will let you go for now,” he says gently, “Drive safe!”
“Thank you, Shane! I’ll talk to you later!”
You both exchanged a “goodbye” and hung up the phone. You lowered your hand, holding your phone, to your lap, staring at the empty parking lot before you, biting your lip and smiling. You are already excited about your and Shane's plans for tomorrow!

Your job was absolutely killing you. You worked as a retail associate at a designer company. You were unhappy and underpaid. Your feet hurt and you have been dealing with rude people all day. You were on the brink of tears all day. Shane knew you hated your job and he hated that you were unhappy. All he wanted was to see a smile on your face as you walked through the door to your house.
Shane came back from a short tour a few days ago and he missed you so much. He wanted to do something special for you when you came home from work. He put together a plan in his head to pamper you all evening
Meanwhile, you were so stressed at work and it felt as if time was going by so slowly.
“God could this shift go by any slower?” you complained internally.
Rude customer after rude customer; what was with people today? You were holding on by a thread at this point. All you wanted was to get home to your boy.
At home, Shane was rushing around the house preparing the most perfect evening for you. He was so excited to see you and your reaction.
You sat in your car for a bit before igniting the engine.
“What a shit day,” you sobbed into your hands as the weight of the day took over you.
You wiped your tears and started your car, zipping out of the parking lot.
Shane’s attention was brought to the front door as he heard the handle start turning. He was a little concerned though because he also heard sniffles and sobs behind the wood separating you two.
You appeared with mascara-stained cheeks and red eyes, trying to catch your breath.
Shane arrived in front of you in moments.
“Awe babe, what’s the matter?” he asked gently, leaning to see you.
You took a heavy breath in, “I just had the most shitty day at work! E- everybody was so rude to me! And my- my feet ache so badly! Is something wrong with me? Am I just not good enough for this stupid job?”
Shane placed his hands on your face, “Baby no! You are the brightest and kindest person out there! Those people should be grateful you are there to help them! There is absolutely nothing wrong with you! I’m so sorry you had such a shit day!”
You looked up at your boyfriend through tears. Your heart grew at his kind words.
Shane wiped your tears away with his shirt and kissed you. “I have some surprises for you,” he said with his awkward charm, blushing a little.
You sniffled, “You do? Why?”
“Why? Because you deserve it! Especially after this hell of a day you went through, and because I love you so much!”
You giggled.
“There’s my girl! I love that smile. What do you say I show you everything I put together?” Shane said, mirroring your smile.
You nodded and hugged him.
Shane led you into the bathroom where you were engulfed in the relaxing scent of lavender essential oils. The bathroom lights were dimmed, but you were still able to see everything in front of you. You saw a beautiful bouquet of flowers in a vase sitting on the counter, with candles lit everywhere in the bathroom, emitting a warm glow.
You looked up at your boyfriend with a big, heart-warming smile.
He let out a light giggle, “I hope you enjoy this!”
“Shane- this is wonderful!” you took a second to look in awe. “How do I deserve you?”
The boy looked down at you with care, “You deserve this treatment in every lifetime.”
You could not stop smiling.
“Alright sweetheart, I am gonna let you relax. Let me know if you need anything at all, okay?”
You grabbed his arm, “Wait Shane. Do you maybe wanna join me?” you said quietly.
“Of course, babe!” he said laughing and stroking your arm.
You both got into the bath soaking up each other's company. The air was filled with love. Your muscles melted into the hot water while Shane sat behind you, rubbing circles into your shoulders. Your awful day was not so awful anymore thanks to your boyfriend.
You shifted to where you could see a little of his face, “Thank you so much for this! I love you!”
He put his arms around your shoulders and kissed your temple, “Like I said, you deserve this! You are the best thing that has ever happened to me, and I wanna take care of you! I love you more than words can even describe!”
You spent the rest of the evening in each other’s arms. Your breathing synced together, and eventually you both fell asleep in each other's tight embrace. Content smiles on both of your faces.
