A.k.a. spending hours searching through every dictionary you can think of to find what this really obscure preposition means only to realize wait--it’s the syncopated form of ierunt.

It's poetically beautiful that in Latin, there is no future subjunctive because the future is inherently unclear and already has an element of doubt
