Stand-Up Comedy Comes to Yards Brewing Co. 6/23
Laughter and pints to flow at brand new showcase
PHILADELPHIA, June 12, 2017 - The Laughs On Philly stand-up comedy collective and Yards Brewing Company  are teaming up for the first time to present âComedy Untapped,â Friday, June 23rd at 7:30pm. Four of the tri-state areaâs funniest comics will take the stage as patrons enjoy a selection Yardâs finest brews on tap. Comedy fans have grown accustomed to a two-drink minimum, but âComedy Untappedâ flips this concept on its head by giving away two free drink tickets to each audience member. Itâs the perfect way to get up to speed on Yardsâ ever-growing draft list and Philadelphiaâs burgeoning independent comedy scene!
âThe crew at Laughs loves comedy, and we love good beer,â says Laughs On Phillyâs creative director Alejandro Morales, âSo teaming up with Yards to showcase some of our favorites, and drink some of our favorites, felt like a natural partnership.â
Chris Cotton - Chris Cotton began performing Stand Up Comedy in the same city he was born and raised in (Philadelphia, Pennsylvania). Chris has worked with many of the best national headliners including Artie Lange, Keith Robinson, Godfrey, Bret Ernst, Tommy Davidson, Kevin Hart, Judah Friedlander, and Hannibal Burress. His set topics include pop culture, current events, being married, and growing up in the city. Equipped with an easy going style, Chris is rapidly gaining popularity, and s a writer Mr. Cotton has written and acted in numerous sketches, television shows and contributed to developing commercial advertising.
Jon DelCollo - DelCollo, a graduate of the University of Delaware and St. Elizabeth High School, got started in comedy six years ago, attempting his first open mic at Philadelphia's Helium Comedy Club. After living in Los Angeles for about a year in 2011 with an eye on snagging a writing job in Hollywood, DelCollo returned, eventually moving from Wilmington to Philadelphia to continue his comedy career. These days, you can find DelCollo performing at major Philadelphia clubs such as Helium and the newly opened, Live Nation-backed Punch Line Philly.
Jake Mattera - Jake Mattera is a stand-up comedian and comedy writer. He has performed in sketches that have appeared on CONAN, He was a featured guest on The John DeBella Show on WMGK, and he has also written parody songs for the popular Philadelphia morning radio program, âThe Preston and Steve Showâ. Jake was selected as a finalist in Helium Comedyâs 2014 Phillyâs Phunniest competition and selected as a semi-finalist in 2015 and again in 2016. Just recently he was selected for the Big Sky Comedy Festival and advanced to the semi-finals of the Boston Comedy Festival.
Brandon Vincent Jackson - Brandon is the premier young comedian from Delaware. He has been featured in a variety of Helium Comedy Club showcases including the Dirty Dozen, the Best of Philly Showcase, and An Evening with Chip Chantry. He was also a Philly's Phunniest Finalist in 2016. Until recently, Brandon produced a popular monthly comedy Showcase at Spaceboy Clothing in Wilmington. Since graduating from the University of Delaware, Brandon has served a youth mentor and educator for which he won a Delaware and National volunteer award.
Tickets to âComedy Untappedâ are $20 and include two drink tickets good for anything Yards has on tap. Tickets can be purchased online before the show or at the door the evening of the show.
The Laughs On Philly team includes Ron Metellus (Black History Monthly), Rachel Peters (Calendar Boys), Alex Grubard (Weeding Out The Stoned), Alejandro Morales (Eat Your Beats), Erin Dohony (Comedy Is For Gentlemen), Eddie Finn (The Tinder Show), Reid Bennett (Bonfire Shows) along with fellow standup comedians Joey Dougherty, Sean Howard, Teddy Hanson, and Bryan Yanez.
