MASKED SPACE PRINCESS- WOMEN’S CHIFFON T-SHIRT
No one would say that word by accident while being drunk unless its in his regular vocab. And violently provocative speech isn’t covered by the first amendment. He chose to run his mouth on the train and the train chose to teach him a lesson.
He’ll be apologizing soon with some bullshit about being drunk and needing help. That’s the “caught being yourself in public” cycle.
And yet in the UK, a man was yelling at a woman on the underground. He had a full blown melt down all because when he shoved passed her she said “excuse me”.
Not one fucking person stepped in until about 2 minutes into his tirade and even then it was half-hearted…. The video released cuts off so we dont know if he was actually dealt with in any propper way.
What has this got to do with the UK?
Like why are you bringing in the UK? Plenty of times when racists are shouting they are shoved off but rarely is there as vile a language used as in this video. And also this guy had been shouting for ages before the recording actually started, shouting the n word at passengers. In britain we still deal with racism in public, in fact we throw them in jail. Like its literally against the law to make racist comments at people
I mean lets face it, if this guy was on a bus in many places in america people would be cheering him…
Kinda shows the difference in how shit is delt with.
I’ve been present during someone spewing vile racial slurs in Birmingham…. Three police officers ignored it. When asked by someone else to do something, they shrugged it off as the guy “just being drunk” and left.
Nobody else stepped in and we all just moved away…. In the UK there’s two reasons 1) drunks/drug addicts tend to carry knives… We’re all too scared to do or say anything for fear of retaliation. 2) we also seem to have formed this “not-my-problem” attitude, recently. For the most part if it doesn’t affect us directly, we’ll ignore it and hope it goes away.
It’s actually great to see people ~doing something about assholes. I’d like to think i would be one of those people, like many do. In truth we move. It’s an inconvenience and someone else’s problem*.
*I moved away as fast as i could before i had a full on anxiety break down… I will not ever be that person.
Ive lived in the UK my entire life and thats never been my experience. Hell its not even how I act and im a 5 ft girl
Drunks and drug addicts do not tend to carry knives. Gang members and young people increasingly carry knives in large cities but they are usually sober and the violence is contained in groups. Besides in america there are guns as well as knives. Its a moot point.
Britain has always had a more restrained attitude to street violence true, but its not like they dont do anything. Just recently in london a campaign against language towards muslims has been launched. Personally I have never come across racism on public transport. However when I see people being disrespectful eg littering or drinking on tubes I step in
The truth is the guy in the video above clearly was not drunk, it was the middle of the day and he was drinking a weakass can which is only about 4 percent alcohol content.
Also that isnt police protocol with drunks. Police officers dont just leave, one of my friends is in the met. Even without spewing racial slurs, police officers stay around severely drunk/drugged people either arresting them or putting them into hospital, this is due to public indecency laws. Even if people are just drinking in the street they can be arrested if they are antisocial or in certain residential or public areas. Its in fact illegal on public transport to consume any alcohol or binge drink. Anyone caught on public teansport in such a state would be cautioned and perhaps even fined.
