"The urge for good design is the same as the urge to go on living." Harry Bertoia.
My love for Harry Bertoia's Diamond Chair began when I was a child visiting my paediatrician. The image of bright yellow side chairs is forever embedded in my memory. Experiencing the sensation of intertwining my fingers between the open spaces, I would clamber up onto them.
Many years later, I set out to rekindle my long lost love. The bright yellow children's chairs had morphed and matured to become the Diamond Chair. Reunited in a Toronto design gallery, I fell in love all over again. "...go on living."

This perfect cappuccino, with a sprinkle of cinnamon, was lovingly crafted by the owner of Fiesta Coffee.
A blend of the finest selection of coffee beans makes Fiesta Coffee sing with aroma and flavour.
Truly the best coffee I have had the pleasure of enjoying.
"As soon as coffee is in your stomach, there is a general commotion. Ideas begin to move, smiles arise, the paper is covered. Coffee is your ally and writing ceases to be a struggle." Honoré de Balzac.

This vintage poster, circa 1926, was created by J.J. Stall for a company called D & D Paris. It advertises Le Météore, a fountain pen.
In my opinion, this image signifies a young and independent woman entering the work field, perhaps as a secretary in a publishing house. She is a modern woman of the 1920's sporting a short hair-do, a clingy dress and yielding a giant pen. Fabulous!
Météore Girl graced my wall about 4 years ago, courtesy of my dear friends at I Desire Vintage Posters.
