I think it's important when we can identify wedge issues that come up between us as feminists, and try to figure out how we can overcome them and continue to work together despite our difference in opinions.This is gonna take a lot of humility from everyone that we may have forgotten about during our time on the internet communicating with each other, where the algorithms push the loudest and most abrasive opinions.

Trans stuff is a huge one I think, as well as Israel/Palestine. There are probably tons of others.

They definitely have the charismatic leader(s) thing, it's transwomen in general. Their voices are obeyed above all others, they are always exalted in "queer" group dynamics, they're excessively fawned over and doted on by the in-group, they have mantras proliferated and chanted for them, criticism of them is forbidden, they can virtually do no wrong, patterns of their abuse/harm are constantly covered up and excused, they have all the grandiosity, control of information, they're given credit for huge achievements they didn't actually achieve to the point of mythology (ie the Stonewall myth "we owe them our rights"), they're allowed to rewrite history, naysayers are threatened, dogpiled, attacked etc

I was going to reply to this great point from @ante-inferno in comments but I started typing a novel about how I think we got to this point and decided to rb instead.

We all saw how it took over this website 10 years ago, right? Users were having earnest conversations about racism and homophobia, developing colloquial language to discuss these things with a wide audience, and AGP georg and co. comes in with hand clapping emojis and used those same frameworks to slot that agenda in, borrowing credibility from the tangible oppression of homosexuals and nonwhite people and garnishing with suicide threats to really stress the contrived urgency of the cause. All the biggest accounts are reblogging these posts and hyping each other up, it becomes artificially popular the same way it’s artificially important.

I actually have so many thoughts on why we’ve gotten to the point we’re at currently and how social media and fandom culture brewed the perfect storm for this ideology to catch hold that I’ll probably write more on this theory in an essay instead of clogging up the dash here
