This is a journal entry I wrote years ago. I was on Testosterone then. I've since detransitioned, but I still have the journals documenting how I felt through it all.

I was a child transitioner, on testosterone from around 13-15 years old. It permanently impacted my development. I think at 18-19 years old I thought that there wasn't any point in trying to be a woman because I had ruined my chances by taking testosterone as a child. So at that age, I went on Testosterone, again. Only for a few months. I really have had to mourn any chance of me feeling naturally feminine.

And it still sucks. I was 13 and I thought being a lesbian was a fate worse than death, and I had parents that wanted a boy anyway. This whole detransition issue that the LGBT+ community loves brushing under the rug is one that I live daily. I can't ignore it, I can't stay quiet about it: it's my life.

I dont know I think it's kind of gross that the moment a style of presentation that's popular among trans women gets noticed as a theme by the broader population it rapidly devolves into the subject of ridicule, something to make memes about and tease new tgirls about for participating in (though by this point it's getting called a "femboy" style) until they're eventually too self conscious to wear that stuff anymore, and then at best the most sensitive anyone will get about it is "be nice, she'll grow out of it eventually". Of course this is a theme of misogyny in general- anything that becomes popular among young women will inevitably become both sexualised and ridiculed, the 'goth girl' or 'egirl' or whatever is something that men will declare as sexually desirable but also shameful for the woman to want to present that way- women lack interiority and thus could only be wearing that out of a shallow desire for attention. But for trans women specifically this attitude is only amplified- any expression of femininity is vapid and hollow because she is only 'wearing a costume' and 'playing' at being a girl, and when the inevitable sexual objectification comes into play that attraction is a source of conflicted shame that could only be brought on by an active, predatory deception.

I was at a "sapphic event" recently and there were a few transbians there. One of them was so loud and kept trying to be a part of the conversation my date and I were having. He would infodump to anyone about video games, worked in tech, and constantly talked like a Twitter user and would always be calling himself "dyke" and shit. It was so embarrassing for him, the male socialization was so obvious surrounded by actual women. Like most others were pretty quiet and not engaging with him and yet he constantly was trying to find an in and blabbing about how "everything I do is lesbian so jot that down!" quirk chungus redditor type humor. He was like a walking parody, but I guess it's really true what they say about men lacking in creativity. All they do is copy eachother.

Anyways, me and my date moved away from that table and to the back of the place to continue. It is so tragic to me that there are 0 actual female only lesbian spaces that I can visit in my city. I couldn't stop thinking about how different it would have felt in there if there were ACTUALLY no men. Women come alive when there are no men. We shrink at their presence because on an innate level we know that they are predators.
