I can't remember the last time I wore lip gloss.
I'll be honest, I easily get bored towards the end of a season because I feel like I've reached a beauty rut. It always starts out great--you find a new lip color and get to switch your favorite NARS blush with a new hue--but towards the end it's not as exciting as it first was. If you're not trying to go for a dramatic makeover (new hair, who this?) changing up your lipstick arsenal is an easier way to experiment with a new look, and usually cheaper. Need more convincing? Now that it's fall, your favorite lip colors need a reboot. And let's be real, you also need a friend to assure you that a few new lipstick purchases are totally justifiable. For you, I'll be that friend. Let's start with the basics, or "foundation for your lips". So far I've had the best luck with: Too Faced Lip Insurance Lip Primer-$20 If you're not going for a satin finish, try their glossy version to add more shine. The prettiest nude pink that doubles as a lip moisturizer: Yves Saint Laurent ROUGE PUR COUTURE Lip Collection in Rouge Bergamasque- $37 For a lip color that's just a bit deeper than your natural color and won't budge: Sephora Collection Cream Lip Stain in Marvelous Mauve- $14 Your new "wear everywhere" red lip: NARS Audacious Lipstick in Shirley- $32 For those nights when your usual red won't cut it: Urban Decay Vice Lipstick in Hex- $17 This blue is my new favorite lip color and on trend for the season (plus anyone can pull it off): MAKEUP FOREVER Artist Rouge Lipstick in Midnight Blue by Icona Pop (limited edition)- $22 Super creamy formula that glides right on. Use a lipstick primer if you find yourself reapplying it constantly or you like a more matte feel. And because MAKEUP FOREVER's creamy formulas are just so good, they deserve another recognition: MAKEUP FOREVER Artist Rouge Lipstick in Black- $22 Don't just wear this for Halloween, it's universally flattering and perfect in place of red! What are your can't-live-without lipsticks you've tried so far this fall? I'm always looking to add to my lipstick family. ;) -LAUREN

Happy National Coffee Day! ✌☕
When it's raining and there are only a few weeks left of summer, you bake blueberry lemon bread.
I need more Colorado coffee in my life.
I haven't painted in about 7 or 8 years but I did this last night and it felt good.
Forever on repeat.
