Circus St before demolition: The Seminar Room.
Recently i’ve been collecting and scanning old family photographs for my mum, to create a wall of these in our family home. This is one of my favourites!
i’m not sure who this boy is - definitely somebody on my dads side, and possibly taken in Lancaster where he was from, it looks like the street he grew up on.

Mark’s Office
Over the past few months I’ve been photographing the Circus St Annexe building in Brighton before it’s demolished! I have many fond memories of the place - it’s where i studied BA Photography.
Here’s Mark’s office, where i spent way too much time laughing my head off and gossiping!

I've been shortlisted for '30 Under 30'!
I found out yesterday i've been shortlisted for '30 Under 30' - an exhibition at The Photography Show with Magnum! The shortlisted photographers now have their work judged by Magnum photographers Alex Webb and David Hurn, how cool it that! Although my work may not be chosen for the final 30, i'm so pleased and thankful to be shortlisted. 30 under 30: The Shortlist
What is the best way to ease someone’s pain and suffering? How can you really be there for another person? In this beautifully animated RSA Short, Dr Brené Brown reminds us that we can only create a genuine empathic connection if we are brave enough to get in touch with our own fragilities.
This weekend Darwin Magazine was at The Phoenix Centre in Brighton, as part of the Mini Click Paper Fair. We stumbled upon this brilliant publication, which features work from Brighton Universities Graduates from 2013. Full of diverse and engaging bodies of work, from portraits, landscape work to the more abstract and ambiguous creations. The book also came with an extra publication, celebrating the works of past graduate students from 1992 to 2013, who have gone on to do great things from the likes of Ewan Spencer, Lisa Barnard, Laura Pannack and McdonaldStrand. This double volume selection of work not only celebrates what young photographers can produce, but the direction photography has taken within the course. Below you can find links to purchase this book, as well as a few links to some of the graduate photographers who are featured. Also, find links to the lovely guys over at MiniClick who organise talks, publication events, well worth a click.
