EDITORS PICK: Â Felix von der Osten - The Buffalo that does not Dream.
"Two tribes, Gros Ventre and Assiniboine welcomed Felix to take portraits of them, of their homes and surrounding scenery. Both tribes are notorious enemies, who were forced to live alongside one another due to Appropriations Act of 1851 that gave birth to the reservations for the Native American peoples. Both tribes have different values and traditions, with their own separate heritage of how each tribe came about. The Gros Ventre believes they were made from white clay from the bottom of rivers in the Gros Ventre country. Locals call the tribe “The Water Falls People” with the symbol of water visible on their garments and tribal tattoo’s. The Assiniboine tribe who call themselves the Nakoda and are a divided tribe and have separate stories how the tribe originated, however each faction identify themselves as part of the Assiniboine tribe despite differences."

Zine Review: Lingering Ghosts by Sam Ivin now on our website. A body of work taking a look at those lost in the failing boarder control system within the UK. A powerful and important body of work.
“The rise of right wing parties such as UKIP and the BNP within the UK have based a large portion of its policies and speeches on immigration and boarder control, attempting to direct the anger and frustration of the general public onto those seeking asylum.  Jobs, a strained NHS and affordable housing have all been blamed on these lingering ghosts, people who are just like you and me, but are subjected to misdirected hate and ignorance.
With this in mind, there is plenty of meat on the bones of Lingering Ghosts. It’s a body of work of its time, with a general election soon approaching, how we deal and act towards asylum seekers is very much at the forefront of some party’s policies.  As outsiders looking in, we can only but imagine the difficulties these asylum seekers face with a failing boarder control system, let alone political parties and the media making things worse.”
