Who : @laurentborgiin
Where : heading from the Ravenclaw common room to the great hall
Nancy hadn’t left herself enough time to properly get ready for the occasion, she had spent too much time in the common room, writing letter to Ludo’s parents, just to check up. Even though Nancy would be leaving for the official holidays, she still had wanted to ensure that everything was ok, that things were running smoothly. By the time in which Nancy checked her watch, it was 5 in the evening not nearly enough time to get ready at a leisurely pace.
With her hair was charmed into place, the double check that all her accessories were on, and the dress zipped, Nancy was finally ready. Heading down the stairwells from Ravenclaw at quite a quick pace, Nancy barely noticed a fellow housemate in front of her until she was seconds away from bumping into them. “Laurent,” she greeted. Slightly flustered. “Glad to know I’m not the only one running slightly behind.” Nancy laughed breathily. “You look very dashing, are you meeting anybody in the Great Hall?”
Laurent Borgin was not one to usually worry about his clothing. There was more often than not eleven-million things on his mind at any given point. He certainly never cared when it was one of his parents functions, as they were so meticulously planned Laurent often felt he didn't truly even need to think during them, never mind worry about his clothing. But for the Yule Ball, Laurent had worried. He had worried so much he had changed his robes not once, not twice, but seven different times until he returned to the one he had started with. His dorm was a mess.
"Oh thank Merlin I'm not the last one," Laurent said with a smile once he realized who had approached him. "I thought I was going to walk into the hall only to find the entirety of two schools waiting for me to get my arse in gear only for me to have my trousers unzipped or something." He looked down to the stone below him before looking back up with a sheepish grin on his face. "I changed my suit seven times, Nancy. That's how nervous I am."
He shook his head. "I'm a mess over here and you're over here wearing the northern lights. You look stunning, Miss Cattermole, though how you're balancing in those shoes, I've not a clue."
On the subject of partners for the dance, Laurent could not have stopped the grin that lit up his face if he tried and he nodded, well aware the school likely knew about him and Gideon by now but still pleased beyond all measure to get to mention it. "Yes, Gideon and I are meeting at the ball. I don't think we coordinated suits at all, but well. I'm sure we'll match as well as we always do. What about you? Do you have a date?"
