Hellllooooo 🫶🏻 it feels like it has been a really, really long time since I’ve done this, so I thought it might be time to reintroduce myself for those of you who are new here. I’m Laurie 😌 new mother, avid reader, serial overthinker, lover of hiking and fun little drinks and TikTok. I’m a ceramic artist and I live and work in the mountains of North Carolina. I spend my life with my husband, Morgan, our baby J and our dogs Buck 🐶 and Jessica 🐕. I’ve been working for myself full time for a few years, and it simply blows me away that I get to do what I love every day. My pieces are available online as often as I can make that happen, and my next sale is right around the corner 😘🤐 ⁠ Folks most often ask me how long I’ve been doing this (making art, selling art, working as an artist), which is a more complicated question than it appears. In short, I’ve been making this work (whimsical, illustrated pottery) since about 2017. It’s changed a great deal in so many ways since then, but at it’s core it’s the same. Fine lines, washy, bright colors, light clay, with imagery focused around my home in the mountains. Plus unicorns, ofc. In the much longer version I could tell you about how I’ve been making my art for much longer - setting up my worktable next to my mother’s as she painted, painting mythical creatures, sculpting tiny animals, working with my hands constantly for as far back as I can remember. Hi friends, quick housekeeping! My summer shop restock is this THURSDAY and I’m running out of ways to say that I’m SO looking forward to sharing this collection with you. Picnics on red checkered blankets under blue skies with butterflies fluttering past, blossoming Dogwood flowers, greenhouses and abundant gardens that are much neater looking than mine, unicorns nestled in lush beds of flowers. Hi! I love the hazy colors on your pieces. I was wondering if you use underglazes for the colors and clear on top, or if all the colors are just different glazes? thank you!

I wrote it in my stories and sent it in an email, but I’m from the south and if there is one thing we know how to do here it’s how to say THANK YOU. (Even if it’s sometimes too loud and too often.) So here I am one more time saying thank you so much to all of you who were present for my shop restock last week. ⁠ ⁠ It’s a bewildering and glorious thing to have three months of work be gone from me in a matter of moments. It’s so magical when you send me images and videos of pieces existing in new homes, being unpacked and absorbed straight into your own life.
