"My friend and colleague Leonard Nimoy passed today. A true legend, and a wonderful human being. Sadly missed." John Noble (x)
honestly, this is so important though. at 18, i had been depressed for so long that i was afraid of what would happen if it were to get treatment. “if this part of me goes away, who am i? will i still be the same me?” i was legitimately afraid of getting help for myself. your depression may shape you, but it doesn’t define you.
THIS IS SO FUCKING VALIDATING I CAN’T EVEN.
GETTING HELP DOES NOT MEAN LOSING CREATIVITY.
Let me repeat that, in case you weren’t clear: getting help - therapy, medication, self-care - does NOT mean losing creativity. I know too many fabulous creative people who lose themselves and their art to this nonsense.
I became a better writer and academic after I got help because I could focus and I had more confidence.
I became x746478386 times more creative after getting better.
Live Long and Prosper, Mr. Nimoy.
RIP <3

This photo was taken by Leonard Nimoy for the Full Body Project.
Leonard sought out to photograph women in their full figures to prove that they are gorgeous as they are. He wanted women to know that there is no standard to live up to.
Leonard Nimoy, may you rest in peace. I thank you for what you have done in your lifetime and all of the work you put into honoring women like me. I thank you for honoring my body for what it is.
Beautiful.

Believe it or not, the present is not as gloomy as you think
It’s hard to recognize it sometimes—particularly because there’s still so much shittiness in the world—but we live in a truly amazing, unprecedented period of human existence. There’s good reason for allowing some optimism to dilute our general pessimism.
When you reach a certain level of awareness in terms of things like oppression etc. it becomes so exhausting to have to constantly defend and explain concepts and realities that you feel should be widely accepted to ignorant people! like it’s important to realize that you...
