"It’s fine! If you don’t mind, Garchomp will be walking with us." She tossed the ball into the air and the dark blue pokemon started to walk alongside Cynthia. The walk was quiet again until they were leaving route 210. Not to her surprise, they were slowed down by a few...
It was morning, and loud beeping was the only noise she heard. Cynthia had been tossing in bed for a while and tried to stop her alarm. Eventually she flew off her bed and woke up. Realizing she had a guest, she quickly got dressed and crept downstairs. Since Steven was still sleeping, she left him for a while. What a lump, she thought. A laugh left her. It was nice out, but she didn't just want to leave him lying there cluelessly. Instead of going on a walk, she resorted to drinking coffee on the couch in front of him. For some time she watched TV but had no response from him. Waking him up made her feel bad. She haphazardly leaned over and pushed his shoulder, making him roll off the couch. "Wake up." He was barely responding. "Ummm..."
Cynthia laughed. “Well I never intended it on being so…” She paused. She needed something to pass the time. A battle always amused her, whether she won or lost. “We can battle to pass the time. What do you say, Mars?” She sighed.
“Let’s see what your Pokemon can do,...
Cynthia stood back, giving distance to battle with. She hadn't battled for a few days, which felt weird. A nice warm up, she thought. She pulled out a pokeball from the side of her belt, throwing it into the air. "Go, Lucario!" A gleam mirrored on the lake as the pokemon appeared.
Cynthia stood up, helping him get up.
“Well then.” She started walking down towards Veilstone. “It seems like we’ll only have enough time to make it to Veilstone. If you’re tired just stay there, I can make it to my house alone.” She knew Celestic town was just a...
"It's fine! If you don't mind, Garchomp will be walking with us." She tossed the ball into the air and the dark blue pokemon started to walk alongside Cynthia. The walk was quiet again until they were leaving route 210. Not to her surprise, they were slowed down by a few Machokes. Even at night trainers would be there to challenge anyone they could. Despite their confidence, those trainers didn't dare to speak to the two champions they saw. She led him to her house after they got to Celestic town. "We have a couch and an extra room. You can choose either. I'm going to be in the room upstairs at the end of the hall." Cynthia smiled and pointed to the extra bedroom before walking upstairs.

Cynthia & Steven
His response intrigued her. Wow, they must have grown apart… She had hoped to hear more from him, but didn’t. Cynthia glanced at her watch. “I guess that’s alright, I could understand…” She realized that they’ve been talking for longer than she expected. “It’s getting late.” She mentioned, as it was around 11. Her expression wilted into a slightly worried smile. She felt embarrassed for keeping him up late.
“Do you plan on staying in Sinnoh for a while or are you heading back home tomorrow?”
Thinking back, he remembered Wallace was extremely busy with multitasking his work. Steven as well had his fair share of work to do back in Rustboro for his father. Now with all this happening back in their region, it was sort of impossible to communicate with each other. Oh well… When she had told him that it was getting late, he pulled out his phone and noticed it was 11. Shoot. Have they really been talking for that long? It was probably 8 when he dropped by. Not that he cared much but it surprised him.
He left out a small laugh. “I suppose I’ll stay over for the night. Maybe for a few days but not too long…” He thought it would be best to stay for the night only since he would probably fall asleep on the way back and wouldn’t be able to get safely.
Cynthia stood up, helping him get up.
“Well then.” She started walking down towards Veilstone. “It seems like we’ll only have enough time to make it to Veilstone. If you’re tired just stay there, I can make it to my house alone.” She knew Celestic town was just a small walk from Veilstone, but Steven seemed tired. While they walked she examined her Ultra ball containing Garchomp and thought about how bored she must have been. Poor Garchomp… A clumsy smile spread across her face again.
Decisions | Cynthia & Mars
Cynthia had gotten over the Galactic’s attitude by now. She figured out that she was just stressed or something. She didn’t want to go back there, she didn’t want to have any part with Galactic anymore. Stiffly she stood up. “Well I guess I did forget. I’ll go back with you.” She asserted. Mars had it bad, even being a higher up galactic, she was doing a grunt’s work. The thought made the champion smile.
"That smile’s kinda creepy. Try keep it away from me." Mars squinted her eyes at her in disgust. "And you don’t need to be in such a hurry. He’s too busy to see anyone right now, let alone you."
Of course the team was back to its usual research into Sinnoh’s legendaries, Dialga and Palkia, but in an attempt to make it undisturbable by any demon Pokemon trying to cry out for attention.
Cynthia laughed. “Well I never intended it on being so…” She paused. She needed something to pass the time. A battle always amused her, whether she won or lost. “We can battle to pass the time. What do you say, Mars?” She sighed. “Let’s see what your Pokemon can do, not your attitude.”
Cynthia & Steven
She plucked a flower out of the grass and started to look at it. She remembered the two groups that he spoke of. “Team Aqua, and Team Magma, Right? I know of them, stories at least.” She recalled. Two teams? Hoenn is screwed… She forgot about Wallace. He could be of undeniable help for Hoenn.
She tossed the flower aside. Wallace was introduced to her through Steven. The first time they met Wallace had interrogated her about dancing. Another time their Milotics became friends after one of the battles they’ve fought. He especially had won that battle, as always putting up good competition. Despite his silliness he was a very experienced person. Eventually she warmed up to him and appreciated him well over time, despite his oddities. Knowing he was a good friend of Steven, she trusted him.
“How’s Wallace?” She asked curiously.
He was impressed. “Yes. Even knowing them from stories is still pretty amazing.” He barely talked about the two teams, and If he ever did, it was only a few times. “Team Aqua and Team Magma… two groups with very different ideas, but with the same idea of taking all over the region.”
Hums. Looking up at the night sky, he noticed it looked different. Being in the cities where all the city lights make it hard to see the stars. Here, they were visible. Everything seemed so… peaceful. Not all that peaceful, of course. There was still the evil organizations trying to maintain their power right now. There wasn’t much he could do by himself, plus he was sort of a mess by himself.
— How’s Wallace? —
Those words that Cynthia said made him a little confused. Wallace… Oh that’s right. “Wallace? I actually haven’t seen him in quite a while. He’s probably really busy with his work and… with what’s going on.” It wasn’t uncommon that he didn’t know where his friend was. They were always too busy to see each other. Sometimes they did talk to each on the phone, but now, they were unable to speak to each other as much. He tapped his chin. “Hmm… I’m a little worried, but he’s okay, I think.” He shrugged and smiled sheepishly.
Cynthia & Steven
She reacted with a slight laugh, which she covered up before she would offend him. “Well Steven, I’ve actually been thinking about you too.” She answered, and started to smile.
Time stopped along with their words. She walked over to the edge of the lake and waved for him to come sit with her. It was already 5 when she had gotten there, so by now it was fairly late. That didn’t seem to bother them. They both looked into the standstill lake to see a perfect reflection of the stars. She suddenly gawked at herself when she thought about him. What am I thinking..? Oh Arceus, she loved him. She always had but it kind of burdened her, knowing they lived far apart. Being hard on herself as usual, she never liked facing weak feelings like that. She quickly tried to shake off her thoughts. Ok no more weird feelings. Cynthia lied down and started to observe the night sky again. “Nothing’s really changed here. For me, at least. Beside Galactic now being under control, I’ve had more free time. As for yourself, how has Hoenn been?” She wondered.
When he had heard that she too was happy, it made him feel much better. It was getting late. They’ve been talking for some while, which he didn’t mind. Usually, at this hour, he would be doing work or something of the like. As he looked into the lake, he started thinking.
» i wonder what’s happening in hoenn. are my friends okay? i know she’s okay now. that’s good.
He was now dozing off. Then, when Cynthia immediately started talking, he jumped a little. “O-oh? Well, that’s good… right?” Then thought about what he had said and quickly added, “Not that Galactic being in control is good, but you have time for yourself now.” He noticed that she was now lying down, he sat down next to her. “As for me, I’m doing okay. Hoenn has been a little chaotic since we have two groups.”
"They seem to be working together more. Except, I wouldn’t say working together in peace, they still have their disagreements from time to time."
She plucked a flower out of the grass and started to look at it. She remembered the two groups that he spoke of. “Team Aqua, and Team Magma, Right? I know of them, stories at least.” She recalled. Cynthia & Steven
A familiar voice caught her attention. It was Steven. Even though nobody really knew, they were good friends. Due to work, they had no time to see each other, so she hadn’t seen his face for a long time. What was he up to these days? He looked different from what she remembered. Much older and stressed looking, though it wasn’t in a bad way. Cynthia stood up quickly in response to him. Embarrassed, she tried to pat some dirt off of her long coat. “Oh, Steven! Wow it’s really been so long…” Her gaze fixated on him. “So of all things, what brought you to see me? I mean, I do appreciate you being here, it’s just sudden.” She murmured nervously.
He blinked a few times before responding. “H-huh? Ah…” He looked away for a bit before looking back at her. “Oh, I don’t know. I haven’t seen you in a while…” He started to speak more softly. “Recently, with all the chaos happening everywhere, I got worried.”
He put his hands on her shoulders and looks at her directly in the eyes. “Cynthia, I got worried. Not being able to know if any of my friends were okay got me really distressed.” His tone of voice changed, “But I’m so glad you’re okay…” Noticing that he still had his hands on her shoulders, he quickly took them off. A little embarrassed of what he had done, even if it was something simple, mumbled “Sorry…”
She reacted with a slight laugh, which she covered up before she would offend him. “Well Steven, I’ve actually been thinking about you too.” She answered, and started to smile.

Decisions | Cynthia & Mars
Cynthia adjusted her spiteful gaze towards Mars. “Excuse me, but I had no choice. You see, I may be a Champion, but I alone wouldn’t be enough to oppose you. I am not weak for that, I am smart.” The blonde stands up and pats dirt off of her long, black coat. By now she realized that they have tracked her down by her phone. Not her smartest move to have kept it. Still, being herself, she would always despise team Galactic, never would she change her mind after what they had done. She never would truly give in. Mars was fairly serious, but her remark was enough to annoy Cynthia. Although she didn’t want to face it, she did feel uneasy with Mars’ presence. “Well anyway, Mars, what would you want of me right now? You’ve already got my promise.” The champion uttered, crossing her arms.
Perfect. Mars grinned as the blonde snapped at her, giving the exact reaction that she was expecting. She skipped back, hands behind her, as she watched Cynthia get up. “Right, right~” She muttered, twirling a strand of hair between her fingers.
"I was told to come watch you till our leader is ready to see you.. Ah, did they forget to tell you that? He wants to see you about something or another." She scoffed, turning around and making her way over to a fallen tree to go sit on it. "Don’t flatter yourself. It’s not like I’d ever want anything from you. I had more important things to do before they were passed onto that damn Saturn and they dumped me here." The Galactic scowled down at her swinging legs before muttering to herself. "I bet that damned brat pulled some strings somewhere…"
Decisions | Cynthia & Steven
The quiet woman found herself gazing into the waters of Lake Valor. It had been several hours since she’d been interrogated. The air was thin, and an eerie silence basked in her presence. Just enough to make her already timid self feel like the only person there. A shortness of breath, she thought. Her anxiety has the best of her now. So many things had just happened, and even a genius like her could not compute the complex situation before her. The champion sat down on the side of a path which faced the lakefront. Pausing for a moment, she starts to look into the vast water again. What if something bad had happened to her friends? She stared at her phone hesitantly. Maybe she would get in trouble for trying to contact them. Unsure of her now, limited actions, she put it away and lied to herself that they were fine. Something else was bugging her, though, she couldn’t quite figure out what it was.
Cynthia lies down, and her long, blonde hair pools around her. Surprisingly she never really had time to appreciate nature, although she did admire it greatly. Even with that, she was not the kind to be so easy with letting her clothing get dirty, but now she could care less about her clothes. She doesn’t want to deal with what she was really worried about. Even being a productive leader, she just can’t find it in herself to face it. How could team Galactic have control? They actually seem really threatening now, and she knows better than to oppose them without knowing what was happening. She needed to talk to someone trustworthy. Cynthia sighed while nervously tapping her fingers on the ground. Looking back, she could tell there was someone nearby. “Hmm, I wonder who this could be…”
Steven never understood what the point was with the evil groups suddenly rising and wanting power again. Although he was told by both organizations their reasons and that they were watching him. He gave them both a gentle smile and replied, “If that is what you wish.” and walked off. He thought, As long as they’re not hurting me, there’s no reason for me to really fight back. But the thought of whether his friends were okay or not made him feel uneasy. It would be the only reason why he would ever take action. After the first time when they were a threat to Hoenn, he knew he wasn’t capable of defeating them alone. Even now, when they were a complete threat, he doesn’t have the ability to face them. He kept reminding himself that eventually everything will fall back into its place. Walking back to his house was much more difficult than he had thought. Those grunts were all over the place. Sigh, What a mess. He realized they weren’t going to let him go anywhere near his house without being asked questions. Suddenly, he thought of something.
Surprisingly, they let him go to another region. And for that, he was grateful. He had a good friend in the region nearby. When he had landed in Sinnoh, he started towards one of the cities but then realized he had no clue where she could be. He tried asking the people, but everyone looked so restless and said no. Right when he was going to go wander off, he had overheard that they’ve seen her going towards the lake. That was his cue, he headed straight to the lake they’ve mention. When he had entered into Lake Valor, he felt an unpleasant sensation. Was it because something had happened here? Maybe it was her, was she okay? Starting to walk a little faster than usual. He started to get a little anxious. Then he saw her. Cynthia. She looked fine to him, although a bit dirty but that didn’t matter. He let out a sigh of relief. “Cynthia.” He said.
A familiar voice caught her attention. It was Steven. Even though nobody really knew, they were good friends. Due to work, they had no time to see each other, so she hadn't seen his face for a long time. What was he up to these days? He looked different from what she remembered.
