Mary Miles Minter.
Mary Miles Minter played Anne Shirley in the 1919 silent film. Sadly, the film is not available to watch as all prints of the film are believed to be lost.
Lucy Maud Montgomery notoriously disliked the film due to the “yankeeism” such as inserting the American flag at a Canadian graduation and the setting not representing the landscape of Prince Edward Island.
The collision of India and Eurasia, which started about 50 million years ago and continues to this day, formed the Himalayas and the Tibetan Plateau.

Lucy Maud Montgomery
the author of Anne of Green Gables
Born in 1874 to parents Clara Woolner Montgomery and Hugh John Montgomery.
Maud’s mother died when she was only 21 months years old, and she later recalled in her journals that seeing her mother lying dead in her coffin was her earliest and only memory of her mother.
Struck by grief her father then left, leaving her in the care of her grandparents. Which was a very strict and somewhat stifling environment. And Maud often reflected that she felt like an orphan in those earlier years.
These early childhood memories and experiences later helped shape the themes in her books, especially Anne of Green Gables.

The fabulous Lesley Gore
Lesley Gore is famous singer from the 1960s known for hits like ‘It’s My Party’ and feminist anthem ‘You Don’t Own Me’.
And though her songs often depicted relationships with men she was actually a lesbian and was with her partner Lois Sasson for 33 years before her death in 2020.
I literally love Lesley Gore so much. Personally my favourite song from her is ‘Little Girl Go Home’ or ‘Treat Me Like a Lady.’
im trying so hard to stay calm today but this infuriates me. he killed a girl in cold blood and hes gonna get away with it. he was 31 she was 19. he stabbed her FORTY TIMES. and he was originally charged for the killing being PREMEDITATED. this is sickening. how much longer are we going to let people get away with abusing and brutalizing and murdering trans women and girls? justice for juniper blessing. I'm so sorry juniper, I hope you are at peace, you didnt deserve any of this
Every single non trans woman who proclaims to be an ally absolutely needs to be posting about how goddamn transmisogynist staff is.
Because when trans women dare to speak up for themselves, Tumblr nukes their blogs.
We need to be fucking loud about this, daily, because Tumblr staff is specifically targeting and deleting trans women who are not breaking ToS and who often have fundraisers up FOR THEIR SURVIVAL.
By deleting these blogs repeatedly, Tumblr staff is saying loud and clear what they hope happens to these girls.
Are y'all okay with that? Because if not we need to be posting about it more because we have seen by now it's incredibly fucking unlikely this sites moderation will delete our blogs for it because we are not trans women
Tumblr staff and CEO Matt Mullenweg want trans women in need to not be able to post their fundraisers, meaning they are okay with these women dying.
LM Montgomery -- Dorkiest Nickname
Inspired by recent posts in The Blue Castle fandom, I have a question:
Which heroine gets the dorkiest nickname?
Anne -- "Anne Girl"
Emily -- "Sparrow"
Emily -- "Jade"
Rilla -- "Rilla-My-Rilla"
Valancy -- "Moonlight"
Sara Stanley -- "The Story Girl"
I'm giving this three days. Please reblog for greater sample size.
But Rayless, what about "Doss"? Doss was supposed to be a bad nickname, the others are totally the best nicknames ever.
‘While I was writing Green Gables my idea of Anne’s face was taken from a picture I had cut from a magazine, passe-partouted, and hung on the wall of my room—a photograph of a real girl somewhere in the U.S. (Evelyn Nesbit), but I have no idea who she was or where she lived. I wonder if she ever read of Anne, never dreaming that, physically, she was the original!’ L.M. Montgomery on Evelyn Nesbit serving as the original inspiration for Anne Shirley.

'It appears that these magma bodies exist beneath volcanoes over their whole lifetime, not just during an active state.'
Though immensely powerful, volcanoes are not always spewing hot lava around. Many are considered dormant or even extinct and have not shown their strength for hundreds of thousands of years in some cases. However, a team of scientists recently found magma chambers lurking beneath six volcanoes in the Cascade Range. The findings published January 23 in the journal Nature Geoscience are challenging the idea of what separates an active volcano from a dormant one.
