...I know that we would prefer Zenos not to have a version of him in each shard. But some of the writing around Golbez repeating similar turns of phrases and saying certain things cannot be coincidences. He makes claims like playing his part to perfection just as Zenos had a top the Royal Menagerie, is a blond swordsman who brings about the Final Days, refers to the OG Golbez as "My friend...my hero..." in the same pattern as Zenos saying "My enemy...my friend...", both shed their identities to become something else in an attempt to follow their missions, are instrumental in unleashing his shard's Zodiark upon the realm, took control of a dragon and bent its will to do his own bidding and in the end aided us to combat the greater threat to the world, if it meant they could finally achieve their end goals. The difference being that Durante wishes to honor the memory of his friend while Zenos wants to draw out the true us beneath the veil of the title of hero. This key difference is what makes Zero reach out to aid Durante while spending her time disliking Zenos.
