Well, Rhaenyra, you cannot govern. You're acting like an idiot. Can you really blame your enemies for using your failures to their advantage? Since Rhaenyra took King's Landing, we've been watching her fumble and hesitate and focus on making sure Alicent is comfortable and knows that Rhaenyra is not a bad person. Fucking Viserys was more decisive than Rhaenyra in the show.
And honestly, I understand Daemon's frustration. All they do is sit at the Small Council table and talk about the same things, over and over. Those Small Council scenes bring nothing new. They are so similar that they blend together. It's the same problem the show had in Season 2 with Rhaenyra's Small Council meetings.
Rhaenyra's idea to send assassins to deal with Ormund is stupid. But that's nothing new. Frankly, Rhaenyra did not have a good idea since Episode 7 of Season 1, when she asked Daemon to marry her because she knew Alicent and her father were going to try to cause her problems after Viserys died. Of course, that was in Season 1, so neither the characters nor the writers remember it. Now, every time Rhaenyra talks to Alicent, she sounds like she's about to start crying. WTF.
Another example of a character's amnesia. I guess Rhaenyra kinda forgot that Borros Baratheon sided with the Greens. Why did she think he was going to help her? No idea.
Why the fuck is Silverwing so small compared to Vermithor? She's only a few years younger, and unlike Vermithor, who spent a lot of time locked in Dragonpit, Silverwing was with Alysanne on Dragonstone, where "dragons thrive". She should be much bigger.

As I said, Rhaenyra is acting like an idiot. Once again, the writers' obsession with this friendship is dragging the show and its characters down. The fact that Rhaenyra still doesn't consider Alicent as her enemy is simply unrealistic. At this point, partly due to Alicent's actions, Rhaenyra has lost two of her sons. The younger two, she had to send away to safety. Why is she still treating Alicent with more kindness and respect than some of her allies?
It's also funny that Rhaenyra is accusing everyone of not doing their jobs, of not doing enough, but not Mysaria. Mysaria is not the Representative of the smallfolk on the Small Council; She is the Mistress of Whispers. Yet, everything Rhaenyra learns, she learns from other people. Mysaria is doing nothing, but Rhaenyra's ire is never directed at her 🙄
Alys Rivers joined the group of characters who have changed their personality and motivation between the seasons. At this point, I guess we should expect it every time a new season starts, and instead of speculating what will happen, we should ask ourselves, "Who are the characters going to be this time?"
It was nice of Ryan to mention one of my favourite Targaryen women, but even dropping Queen Rhaena will not change my opinion that he is an idiot.
You know, I don't think it's my place to say whether Rhaena's treatment by the writers is racist. I'm a white woman living in a white country. However, I do not understand how the writers can claim that Rhaena's storyline was improved when, after they changed the race of the Velaryons, she is being slapped around, mistreated and living like a beggar. In the book, she's Jeyne's ward, pampered and cherished. In the book, Nettle's life improves when she claims Sheepstealer. In the show? Nope.
I also have real trouble believing that any character would truly think that Rhaena is in some danger from Rhaenyra when Rhaenyra in the show is a wet blanket, who wept when killing Otto and sent his bones with an honour guard to Oldtown.
Alyn and Baela are kissing now. Wow, that relationship has zero buildup. Though I suppose Baela played a therapist to Alyn, so maybe the writers decided that was enough. Honestly, that scene was fucking awkward. It came out of nowhere. It means nothing. Yet another example of characters doing stuff, not because it feels like something they would have done, but because the writers put it in the script.
Daemon dressing up as a Gold Cloak was funny as fuck. He really made sure a few silver strands peeked out from under that helm 😂 But also, it makes the whole plotline with Gold Cloaks being killed look really silly. Daemon alone managed to catch and kill the assassin, but the Gold Cloaks who travelled in groups couldn't...
Alicent suffers from another bout of amnesia. Once again, something is not her fault. There was a chance to marry Helaena to someone other than Aegon. Alicent said, "When I'm cold in my grave." But now, it was Otto's wish. Did the writers forget that Otto was not present in King's Landing for 10 years, and in that time, Alicent was running the show?
Gwayne, Ormund, and Daeron were the best part of the episode. But Gwayne realising that the Baratheons are assassins in disguise because "Arrion Baratheon had a hair of light chestnut" was kind of funny, considering the storyline in Game of Thrones. I suppose Ryan kinda forgot that the seed is strong.
We're well past half of season 3. I have no faith, none, that Ryan Condal and his writers can tell the story in four seasons in a satisfying way. The pacing of the show is just bad.
Rating of the episode: 2/10. For butchering Butcher's Ball.
