Rollers are Ideal for painting
Choosing the right roller
Paint rollers come in all different naps and widths. Rollers were best know and used for large surfaces until resent years with the introduction of the new small short nap 6” roller sleeve. Rollers are great for applying all types of interior and exterior finishes. When choosing a roller take into consideration the texture and finish you are looking for. If the wall is rough in some cases brick you will need a long nap roller, if the wall is new sheet rock you will need a short nap roller that will give as much smoother finish.
To clean a roller sleeve, roll as dry as possible and wash using warm water when possible, then rinse with soap and water.

Why sand before I Paint
SHOULD I SAND BEFORE I PAINT?
When preparing older structure builds before 1978 for repainting, be sure to test for lead in paint before sanding or scraping. Lead can cause serious health problems for kids less than 6 years of age and for seniors. The Home Depot, Lowes and many other hardware and paint stores sell lead testing kits. Lead testing kits are used to test for lead in paint; paint containing lead requires special precautions to prevent breathing in the lead particles that would be released when disturb. Removal of lead-containing paint should be done only by trained professionals.
A certified lead professional should be EPA certified. The practices that should not be used to remove lead paint;
Open-flame burning or torching of painted surfaces
Heat Gun above 1100 degrees Fahrenheit
The use of machines through high-speed operation such as sanding, grinding, power planning needle gun, abrasive blasting or sand blasting unless these equipment are fitted with HAPA vacuum attach to collect the dust.
PAINTING Your Home/Apartment
WHICH TYPE OF PAINT SHOULD I CHOOSE?
The type of paint used to paint walls, doors, trims and ceiling requires different kind of finish and texture. The paint you would use to paint the ceiling is not the same as you would use to paint the walls or even the doors.
Before we paint there are a few things that need to be done; the surface to be painted should be check for lose crack and peeling paint. The surfaces should also be check for dirt and oil; if oil and dirt is present on the surfaces it would prevent the paint from bonding to the existing paint. The best method for cleaning these surfaces is with soap and water, then rinse with water and allow to air dry.
Should I sand before I paint? We will answer this in our next blog

Is pergola for me or Gazebo
IS A PERGOLA FOR YOU?
A pergola is a structure that is often built over all or a part of a deck to provide partial shade. Posts supporting the structure may be extensions of the deck posts. On an attached deck, one side may be fastened to the building. A pergola may also be built as a free standing structure and is often used in gardens in this manner. Unlike a roofed structure a pergola is not intended to provide protection from the elements. Pergolas are mostly built of pressure treated lumber; however the color can be painted to owners taste.
